It says its one fully assembled piece like the ez-ups are. The friends we camped with last year had an ez up and it took like 30 sec. to get up. Hopefully these will be the same. 64 dollars as opposed to 120 looks good to me.

i think its one of those things where y get what you pay for. ive seen so many of the lesser ez-up copies that are crap and break easily. actual ez-ups are pretty heavy duty and will last alot longer. honestly if your looking for cheap we bought one of the cheapo shade structures at target on sale for 30 bucks. it was a pain to set up though. but after marking all of the parts it only takes like 10 minutes. and its been to 7 fests and its still going.
Im not really looking for anything cheap. I just figure because 2005 had immense rain and 2006 was completely dry that 2007 will again bring the rain. Im willing to pay the extra money if the alternative is going to make me worry. I know exatly what you mean in getting what you pay for. We went through that the first Roo and I have since lerned my lesson

Did you leave before the Phil set last year? 'Cause I seem to remember a torrential downpour during which I heard a killer version of "Gimmie Shelter"...
Sorry to post twice, but I had a funny thought. In my effort to find a decent shade canopy, Ive seen alot of pictures of the products. They are all in nice sunny, calm weather. Id like to see pictures in windy, rainy crappy weather. People running down the street to catch the canopy as it blows away. Or broken poles or tops flapping in the wind. after all a garbage bag can create shade in nice, calm weather. I want something to withstand the worse case scenario. Just my two cents

The good thing about buying the sides the manufacturer sells is that they are easy to move around the canopy as the sun moves and as wind blows rain from various directions... They also have a silver thermal lining on the inside of the walls (ours at least) so heat will not pass through like your standard blue tarp.

We got the generic version of the EZ-Up at Dick's Sporting goods for $70 with a movable solid wall for two sides. It held up great in the 50 mph winds and rain but we did use large tent spikes instead of those flimsy ass wire tent stakes to hold it down.
Invest in good tent stakes for your tent and canopy. Bring a good claw hammer and you will have no problem.

Im not screwin around this year. Buyin a 20 by 10 thing from costco. It may be heavy and take a little time settin up. But im lovin it already and have not bought it yet. But my $20 shade from sears on sale is stillin goin strong. Alot of xtra stakes rope and ducktape and tarps. weathered a few storms and still kickin!
