Why, should we expect it to rain? Does it rain every year? Sorry I'm going to be a newb to this experience...
It usually does. Last year it only sprinkled on sunday night. In '05 in sprinkled the whole time. In '04 It quickly went from unbelievably hot to torrential, near biblical storms. It's best to plan for constant rain and be pleasantly surprised when/if your wrong. Rain or shine, it's always worth it.

Sunday night last year was more than a sprinkle It was a downpour that had us totally drenched by the time we got back to our cars - and I was not prepared for any rain, so I learned my lesson.
ya i dont think you could describe the phil and friends experiience as a sprinkle. that was a friggin down pour. i love seeing members of the dead. but they always bring the rain with them.
and walmar/kmart have cheap rain boots. around 12 bucks i think.

Ok, he's my two cents on rainboots. In '05 I bought the standard Wal-Mart specials for like 12 bucks or whatever, but man, after spening my entire Sunday wearing them, my feet hurt so bad. If you are going to wear them, by the most comfortable inserts for them possible.
The other way to go is to just buy a pair of Crocs (the funky rubber sandals with the holes in them). Just accept the fact your feet are going to get wet and go with it. You can rinse them off anywhere and they are very comfortable. Or just bring both. I'll still have my rainboots, but we'd have to experience a dman near flood and almost cold temperatures for me to get them out.

I was kinda thinking the same. I haven't spent a whole day in cheap rain boots, but I don't think I would want to. I would prefer to be comfortable.
Crocs actually makes rainboots now. I saw them at a sporting goods store in GA. That is what I will be taking. Crocs are the most comfy shoes ever. They also make flip flops which is the only shoe that I will wear in the summer time. I will find some links and post them later. They are pretty cheap too, like $20.
I always use my "concert" boots. Very comfortable, waterproof hiking boots. Worked great through the deluges of Woodstock '94, the mudpits of the Phish farewell, and Bonnaroo rains of recent years (not last year).
In my dreams I would be able to buy some bright red crocs boots. I would not be wearing any socks with them in the blazing heat of a TN summer. The crocs footbed is plenty comfortable.
As it is, I have some Mary Jane crocs and if I come across some of those extra cheap rain boots, I will get them in a size to fit over the MJ's. I prolly won't bother, I got the crocs so I would be okay not matter what the weather gods bring on.
