Hey! I'm a Bonnaroo newbie coming all the way from the great white north ;D I'm flying in to Nashville and heading to the concert via "the shuttle"! Just wondering how much stuff they allow you on the shuttle.....and how the tent-only section is? I won't have much with me sooooo hopefully my neighbors are kind ;D Any info would be wicked!
I cant tell you about the shuttle but Tenting only is the place to be. The walk to the arch is literally 2mins it can be a little crowded but everywhere is, I also met lots of cool people in tenting only
Official Bonnaroo Express Airport Shuttle No need to worry about getting from Nashville Airport to Bonnaroo. The Bonnaroo Shuttle will take you into Bonnaroo, already wrist-banded, and drop you at a prime camping location close to the main stage and Centeroo. It will pick you up at the same location where you were dropped starting early morning on Monday, June 18.
The shuttle will operate on Thursday, June 14 and Friday, June 15 with frequent departures throughout the day. All returns will be on Monday, June 18 beginning early in the morning.

you can bring whatever you want on the shuttle! but remember you'll also have to carry it over to tent only, so i wouldn't go overboard! if you're flying in you definitely won't have more than what would fit in their luggage storage area under the bus (it's like a big ass coach one!)
last year it was $55 i believe, roundtrip, total bargain
i carried two 50+ lb bags last year, and although tent only is pretty close, i would definitely pack lighter if i had to do it again, lol. that TN sun is killer! and i don't even want to think of what it would be like carrying that much in the rain/mud, oof.
hope i didn't scare you, it's really a great service they provide
i took the shuttle last year too, good deal and it was sweet to go right in, bypassing the huge line (that i waited in for 6 hours the year before).
and i agree with alisa - pack light!!!! last year i left most of the stuff that i brought cause it was hell bringing it down. hopefully someone ended up with a new shade tend and camp chairs (but not the leaky tend or the flat air mattress!)
I agree with the postings above, you're more likely to be limited by the airline than by the shuttle driver. They just throw it all in the cargo hold under the bus.
One tiny word of caution - my shuttle driver in '05 came in the wrong entrance and couldn't turn around so we got dropped quite a way from tent only and had to carry it all. I was fine as I kept it all to one backpack, but others were struggling.
FYI - from the travel website.........After purchasing your air tickets you will be charged an additinal $50 for the roundtrip bonnaroo airport shuttle
Hell I might just drive to the airport and take the shuttle to tent only
Thanks for all the great info guys:) I've got my concert tickets, plane tickets and shuttle tickets......thank-you visa ;D !!!!! I'm really excited about this shuttle ride now.....it sounds like a blast!!! I'll be sure to be on the first one, cuz the first peeps are always the die-hards right ;D.....and seeing that I'm travelling almost 3000 miles, I'm going to enjoy every single little moment Hells yeah!

This year will be my first Bonnaroo and I'll be flying in from California. The airport shuttle sounds like the way to go but I am curious if there will be any way or time to stop off and buy food and supplies for the fest. Dose any one with experience know about this? Can you buy everything you need once you get to there?
Also forgot to ask how much the shuttle costs and how often it runs...? ;D
$60 roundtrip if you book in advance, $70 walk-up purchase. I can't seem to find the schedule, but I remember that it runs about once an hour, sometimes once every hour and a half, and I think there are also a couple points during the day when it runs every half an hour. Hope this helps.
It does suck that taking the shuttle makes me ineligible for the VIP carpool contest, though.

hell yeah, that's what i was thinking. i'm wanting to camp in tent only anyways, and i'm like 10 minutes from the airport. it would def be an easier way to get in. i'm definitely considering this, the only thing is not being able to bring in enough supplies that i could physically carry (like water & stuff). hmmmm.....

I'm driving in early thurs morn to roo. It will be my first roo and my two friends and I have a ton of shit. 2 tents, shade tent, coolers, beer, cornhole set, clothes, etc. Does anyone know where the tent only people park and how far the distance is from where we'd be parking and to where the actual tent only site is? We obviously dont want to make multiple trips but im not so sure that's possible. We were thinking about bringin some handtrucks with us to hopefully make it in one trip. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm driving and this year I bought a fullsize dolly with big rubber wheels. I'm making that long ass walk only once!! It was murder last year - - but worth it.
Of course once I'm done with it I will freely loan it out

I'm also flying from Canada and would like to take the shuttle to Tent only! Do you think it would be possible to get to the airport, take a cab to the closest Walmart, K-Mart or Target to get supplies, cab back and then grab a shuttle?
My dilemma is I have a vip ticket and my compadre has a GA ticket. I was thinking that I could drop her off and she could walk in with a tarp and tent. Set up in TO, once I park in VIP than I could dolly the rest of the stuff over to tent only. Has anyone ever had this situation happen to them? Any and all ideas are welcome.

My plan is to arrive Thursday AM before 5am if they park me far away. I will take my ezup, tent, cot, chair and cooler of beer to TO. Leaving everything else in the car go over to TO set up the tent and ez up, have a cool one then get some sleep later bring only what I need for that day.
I would love to upgrade her but it took me close to 8 months to get the money together for my ticket. Has anyone just walked in on foot and what entrance do you need to use if you walk in on foot?
I'm still debating shuttle/tent-only vs. hitching a ride to the farm and had a couple key questions about tent only. Sorry if this was covered in one of the many general camping threads..
Does anyone here know if they ever fill the tent-only campsites before everyone gets there? If everyone fills the tent-only camp by Centeroo on Wednesday and early Thursday, will those of us arriving Thursday afternoon be stuck far away from Centeroo in the car camping areas?
I can't imagine they would be able to predict how much space they'll need as this probably fluctuates from year to year and some people take up more space than they need.
That leads me to another question-- will there be staff on hand to make sure people don't spread out too much or save spots for others? Do they somehow mark off sections like they do in VIP or is more of a free-for all?

It's amazing how much space "appears" in tent-only. We got there around 3 on Thursday in '09 and it seemed just about capacity. Our neighbors got there close to 5 and people will still finding small spots.
Yeah, I would hate to be a jerk and take a spot closer to Centeroo, but that's really the only option when people think they can take 200 square feet for their camp. I have the same philosophy about getting close to the stages.

Possibly. Since they are opening Tent-Only Wednesday night this year, it's possible that it could fill up by Thursday mid-day.

Yes, some people do take up more space than they need. But the tent-only area shrunk in size last year since they added the on-site tent rentals. So be prepared for the possibility that it could be smaller this year, too.
That leads me to another question-- will there be staff on hand to make sure people don't spread out too much or save spots for others?
Nope.

Nope, it's a total free-for-all.
My advice is to be friendly with the people you encounter in tent-only (if you get there and it's full). Explain that you don't have a car (which I'm assuming you won't) and promise to share something with them if they will make some room for you.
