Sorry to bombard you beautiful Inforoosters with questions, but here come a few more:
Hubby has decided that he will only go to Roo if we stay at a hotel. (And since a hotel Roo is better than no Roo, I'm on board.) I searched around for hotel rooms, but they have inevitably been booked up for the official hotel packages.
Since none of the hotel information is provided ahead of time (which kinda sucks, if I may say), I wondered if anyone might know
1. Do you get to choose what hotel you book thru the official hotel packages? Or do they just assign you to one?
2. If you get to choose the hotel, does anyone have a recommendation of where to stay? (Proximity to the farm and comfort/cleanliness would be the most important factors for us.)
3. Are VIP tickets necessary in order to get a hotel package? Or can you just buy a GA ticket and a hotel package? (The lack of info on the site makes this kind of ambiguous.)
4. If you do get VIP tickets AND a hotel package, how do you pick up your VIP stuff w/o a car? Will the hotel shuttle bring you to the Holiday Inn? (Since we would be flying into Nashville (using the airport shuttle and hotel shuttles), we wouldn't have wheels.)
5. How long is the shuttle ride to/from the hotels? (I assume they just ride around in loops from one hotel to the next, so I'm wondering how long the circuit takes.)
Thank you all again for your insight. You are fabulous!
2) I stayed in Tullahoma (there were 2 hotels in '05 to choose from). Only 20 minutes from the farm. Probably 7 total hotel packages (in 3 or 4 different cities), from what I remember.
3) VIP tickets are not necessary.
4) Not exactly sure, but I would guess that if you are taking the shuttle, they would also handle VIP at the ticket counter the same as they do for GA.
5) No idea, never took the hotel shuttle. I heard that they came by every 30 minutes or so, but that's all I know.

Thanks, Pigsnzen. (I love that song.) And thanks from the other thread as well. I'm hoping to imitate your (12pm-4am) onsite/offsite game plan, so thank you for showing that it can be done!
