Once again another newbie or pup with a question. Just wondering how much you spend a day? on like food, drinks, etc. trying to figure out how much i should bring.
I think we spent about $200 last year - and that was for t-shirts, glass, meals and the occasional COLD water when our was warm at the end of the day - we mostly ate at camp and packed most of our water in backpacks for the day

If you're planning on picking up any souveniers or goodies from shakedown, i'd recommend $30 to $50 per day ($120 to $200 if you're comin on thursday) and $20ish/day if you'll be bringing some food and don't plan on spending a lot on extras

This year i'm bringing about 150, and im thinking i wont spend it all, but im also not really shopping for favors this year. In 05' me and a friend spent well over 500$, lets just say that was a wild 3 days....

i spend a lot, but i buy 2 for $5 beers during the day and other goodies. then again, i don't spend too much on food, mostly live on peanut butter sandwiches and trail mix.
overall, i spend over $50 a day, with fairly high dollar purchases important on the first day

It could be argued that I go alittle overboard for Bonnaroo but, I usually spend $500+. I buy alot of beer in Centeroo and alot of stuff on ShakeDown. I tend to come home broke but, very happy!

I try to get $400-600 set aside for Roo. I guess it all really depends on what it is to you. Im going on 1 trip before Roo and one after. I still look at Bonnaroo as my vacation, so priority goes there. I also like slithering through the underbelly of shakedown every year, so that plays a factor.

I lived in centeroo last year, truly! I only left once for a few hours. So I bought every meal I ate in centeroo! It was so expensive, but I loved never having to take any time to cook a meal. I spent around $300 last year, that bought me centeroo food all weekend, two shirts, a dozen or so (brooer's tent) beers and gas. It was wonderful.

I bring about $900 for everything, including the trip there. Usually have 1 or 200 when I get back home.

I ended up buying a lot more food and drink than I thought I would, but if you are out in the boonies, it is so easy to stay at Centeroo instead of trekking back to the camp. I've never been as happy spending $250 on festival food, beer, and merch.

Depends on how you party, what you eat and if you plan on doing any serious shopping... I bring $300-$500 to most fests and that goes mostly to partying, depends on what your groove is i guess... I bring my own beer/food for the most part and usually buy some clothes, glass or something that catches my eye from the vendors... You can definately get by on $100-$200 or even less like peeps have said... Hell if you play your cards right it can be cheap... You wanna be careful though, its easy to end up broke before sunday even hits...
The SO and I spent approx $700 last year, most of it on beer [and some food] in Centeroo. Brought our other necessities with us. VIP this year should save us a bundle.

rachel ray did it with 40 dollars a day
Am I the only one who finds RR annoying? She never really eats the food and EVERYTHING is ALWAYS yummy.
I took $420 last year, and I wished I'd brought more on Sunday. I'm taking a fair sight more this year, and I'll be glad I did. Those people that go and spend under $200, I'm jealous of them. They have it easy.
I appriecate everyones input. This gives me a good idea of what I need to bring. I think when all is said and done I'm going to be broke at the end of the w/e, being my first Roo and all. I think i'll just be like a kid in a candy store. Tickets today! WooooooHoooooRooooo.
i was somewhere in the $300-400 range last year...and that was actually fairly conservative because i executed my plans poorly. i think this year is gonna push $500.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

i brought $250 or so along with me, and came home with most of it. it was so hot i barely felt like eating, so i only ate once or twice a day. a lovely person from this message board brought me a case of water, so i didn't have to spend any on that. smoothies and drinks and the like weren't too expensive either... guess i did it pretty cheaply!
of course i bought 3 shirts and a poster when i got home, which just about obliterated whatever i had leftover
and of course that's not including tickets or air fare or any of that

I thought I was the only one who spent barely anything.... I took $200 with me and came home with about $150 Having said that, we did take all of our own food and drinks and barely bought any while inside - and yeah because of the heat I had no desire to really eat. This year I plan on buying all that stuff so I am sure my spending will go up.

I took $100 with me last year, and I got by just fine. I didn't buy much water (a bottle a day maybe - instead I filled up my massive nalgene bottle and that usually lasted a while), and all my meals were from Centeroo. Of course, I don't drink (underage, and I haven't found anything I like, for those who might question ), I don't partake of any other chemical vices, and, unfortunately, I was stupid and didn't pick up much in the way of souvenirs. The schwag part I'd like to change this year, except I've not saved up very well, and I'm tentatively swinging by Cedar Point after Bonnaroo as well, so I need to keep some cash for that too.
As has been said, it's possible to do it without spending much (or any) money at all. It all depends on whether you've already got your own food and drink and whether you buy stuff. (Obviously, on that last part.)
I'd have to say last year I got off easy. About 2 weeks before Roo I got into some trouble and had to pay a few tickets which left me all but broke. I managed to pull together $175 right before I left. Luckily the people I was going with knew that I was broke and were very generous and sharing because of it. I Easily spent all $175 by Sunday morning. This year I plan on bringing atleast $250 because I'm probably going solo and won't have those kind sharing friends there to help my broke self out.

Although i hate to say it, you can mooch quite a bit off the generous roo goers. I have a feeling you could spend 0 dollars if you really wanted to, but thats not too nice.
