Yeah just read up on these boards, if you have a question it's probably been answered on the boards somewhere (try searching perhaps), and if not of course you can ask us who've been before and know how it works.
As for getting to Bonnaroo from Cleveland, use Mapquest or Google Maps or something, their directions worked perfectly for me last year (though I'm not from Cleveland). Later on at some point there should be an official Info Guide to Bonnaroo on the official site which will give general directions (i.e., if you're coming from the north, follow road X and take Y, if you're coming from the south follow road W and take exit Z, etc. etc.) and other information.
I am not planning on doing anything but for informational purposes (my friend wants to bring some bad stuff) so I can dissuade him. The car search is pretty thorough isnt it?
Last year was my first and I did a ton of research on this list before going. It made the world of difference so the collective knowledge is valuable. I'm a bit older and went with a younger crew - 18 & 19.
If anyone want's to PM with with questions I'll be happy to answer.
What I'll add to this is that it is a festival with a lot of people. So, if you take care of yourself, don't go out of your way to offend others, enjoy the music, be open to living in close proximity to a bunch of other really great people you will have an outstanding time and be able to make everything work.

Me and 2 others have bought the 4-day ticket package but I will need to leave on Saturday morning for a nearby wedding, then come back later in the day.... Can we get there on Thursday and park somewhere that leaves me access to get out on Saturday morning, then get back in later in the day? I know there are "day passes" that allow people to park, enjoy the music, then leave, but we've bought the 4-day package and will be wanting to set up a tent in the campground area.
But I'm sure if I park the Jeep in the camp area, there's no getting out until it's all over... which I can't do. So can I park somewhere that I can get out easily on Saturday morning, then drive back in on Saturday night and just head right back to the tent that we set up on Thursday?? THANK YOU!!!
Thats tough one... i feel like your only option here would be to day park... so that you can get out on sunday. If you day park you can still set up a tent in tent-only, so that wont be a problem.
if the wedding is nearby I'd suggest finding someone else that is going to the wedding and NOT going to roo to come pick you up. that way you could camp with your jeep and stuff wherever you ended up (coming in on thursday). You could probably get closer but for planning sake you could walk out on Bushy Branch Road towards I-55. By Saturday a ride can probably drive all the way in on bushy Branch until they hit the gate. If cell phone service is a problem you can use txt because that works much better on site. Anyone else know of other meeting places or ideas?

So sounds like we can get there on Thursday, park in the day-park lot, walk our stuff to the camp-only area, set up shop, walk back to my car on Saturday morning to leave for wedding, come back Saturday evening and park in day-park lot again, return to camp-only area for rest of festivities..... am I safe in assuming this is easily possible? or is there a chance we won't be able to park in the day-park area on Thursday? How does it work when you arrive? Do you tell the Roo traffic security people that you want to set up in the camp-only area and they'll let you drive to the day-park lot? Or do they make you follow the herd and park in the park-and-camp area? Sorry to sound redundant, but I'm in a position that forces me to have to be extremely prepared. Thanks!
You can most definately park in day parking on thursday... Im not sure how you go about that, as ive never done it, but hopefully someone else can let you know. I am assuming there is somewhere you are supposed to go in, that is different from the regular enterances. Again though, Im not positive...

Sweet. getting closer.... is there a general info number you can call to get these kinds of questions answered (probably too early right now) or do they just force people to rely on web chats and word of mouth from experienced Roo'ers? where in Michigan r u from?

Anyone?
I have said it a hundred times, I will say it again:
DO NOT COUNT ON DAY PARKING FOR THURSDAY. You MOST DEFINITELY COULD NOT park in Day Parking last year on Thursday evening.
I think someone emailed roo this year and they said it would be open on Thursday, so take that for what it is worth, but last year, you COULD NOT use day parking on thursday evening. It didn't open until Friday morning....

Yeah I was the person who emailed them and asked them that specific question, letting them know that people were turned away from day parking last year on Thursday and I also pointed out that the tickets are for access to the venue, camping and parking for 4 days.
They replied and confirmed that day parking would be available all day on Thursday. I still have the email.

Hey trippindaisy,
Who did you email? I've been sending emails to some generic "bonnarooinfo" address and getting replies saying "sign-up for the newsletter, blah blah"... This is good news for me though, thanks for posting! Where in TN you at? I'm in Goodlettsville, about 20 minutes north of downtown Nashville.

I sent it to info@bonnaroo.com and first I got an auto-response but then within a few hours I got a response from an actual person. I live in West Nashville
Alright, not first timer, we to the first two 'roos... but I don't think they had the sealed water bottle in Centeroo rule then. I remember bringing in beer and whatever. My question is what about my camelback? Can I roll into Centeroo with it filled? Should I take it up there empty along with a sealed gallon of water?
First two years, Thursday only had late night music... we rolled in around 10am Thursday though and had a tight spot that looks like now is VIP close to the main stage.. could see and hear great from our car. Now that Thursday is a whole day of music, when do the gates open? I'd like to get there early... what's the best plan of attack?
Ive heard that people have walked in withought them checking their camelback, but I saw a couple of people emptying theirs out at the checkpoint... so it goes either way...
I dont think anyone knows for sure about the whole Thhursday thing yet.
Hey.... Cant seem to find any info for camping $$$??? No Car Though!! Went to Coachella last year, and there was a flat rate for camping for the weekend...same for Bonnaroo??? Any info is appreciated.....

Pretty sure your 4-day pass covers all costs related to entrance, parking, camping, and watching the events. you'd have to pay extra for concessions and showers....

It really depends on which line you get in. For the most part they didn't check the seals on our bottles, etc, but some people were alot more thorough than others...basically, if you get in a line that is moving fast they will be alot less likely to bug you on the way through the checkpoint into centeroo. But the official stance is that you can't bring an open container into Centeroo.
Alright, so the VIP tickets, yes, expensive... like $1100 for two tickets. If you bought those two, and had two cars, each with 4 people in them and gave one ticket to each car, couldn't you park both cars in VIP and just tell The Gate Keeper that the other 3 people are going to be tent camping? You'd end up splitting the cost between 8 people and have two spots... any thoughts on this? Yes, I realize the other 6 people in your party still have to purchase regular tickets, but it seems that VIP is not needed for everyone.

The whole VIP area is sealed off except to those who have the magic VIP bracelet. Therefore, none of the other 6 people would have any access to the VIP area, food, perks, etc.

Wo, seriously? The VIP camping area is blocked off and requires wrist band? So, if you have friends staying there you can't even drop by to say what's up or chill between sets? That is BS!
