I searched around but couldn't find solid answers.
Okay, so my buddies want to leave Charlotte on Wednesday and get to 'roo Wednesday night....
I've explained my fear of being put in BFE, so I suggested that we come prepared to head to tent only Thursday Morning if that happens.
Questions:
1) I'm assuming, Gazebos are not allowed since its Tent Only?
2) Tent Only Veterans: Whats the atmosphere like in there? Do you worry about your stuff? How much room do you have to move around? Is it typically a huge party all night, or does it get quiet?

I've only camped in tent-only every year I've been. If by gazebo you mean a quick shade/e.z. up type canopy, they are allowed. It's crowded, but not any more crowded than car camping from what I've seen while walking around. We tarped one of our quick shades on all four sides when everyone was going to be away from camp - kept the liquor supply and other valuables in there and never worried. One of my therma rests was stolen last year. However, we have left a wallet full of cash and a satellite radio and boom box out and those were not taken. It never truly becomes silent, but it does quiet down enough to sleep. People walk through your camp, so don't stay there if you're at all territorial. I love it and wouldn't do it any other way. A hidden benefit that we experienced - everything we needed came our way.
