So this may sound like an odd question, but if you come prepared to spend the whole day at the tents and not trudge back to your tent site....do you lug your backpack around all day? In a lot of the pictures it looks like people are walking around backpack free.
If this is the case...does anyone have a preferred pack they carry around with them all day?

I'd bring a blanket, towel, and a small chair, then set up camp inside Centeroo, so you can walk around pack free. The vibe is pretty amazing, that you can leave your stuff there and it will be safe. (I wouldn't leave anything too exspensive) just snacks water..etc etc etc!
If you're planning on being in Centeroo all day, you need a Camelback. Get one with pockets and other whatnot. Camelback, towel, sunglasses, wet wipes, a hat, and some comfortable footwear, and you should be good to go all day.
My backpack (its a hippy canvas backpack, or I bring a big old costa rican rucksack) gets filled with the following:
Beverages (water, gatorade, and other) Snacks (trail mix, granola bars, fresh fruit) Sunscreen is a must A spare Tshirt for weather Wallet in Ziplock Camera in Ziplock Small notepad and pen, in Ziplock Baby wipes
I end up with a ton of empty space... too. I dont do the camelback thing, I think its unnecessary. I just take a big water bottle and a few of the ones that you purchase, frozen. If I need more I fill up at the water station.
A towel or waterproof blanket can be nice if you want to sit outside, and It gets muddy. It was dry last year, so I didnt bother.
Camelbacks or water hydration packs are nice because they usually have retention straps so as you go through your stuff and start throwing stuff away you can make your pack smaller and smaller. Also they are usually somewhat insulated and the water will stay cool even if the weather is hot.
I have the Mountainsmith Sluice it has a 3 litre water bladder and 2 large inner pockets with one outer mesh pocket.
I stay in Centeroo from noon until the late-night shows are over.
I bought a camelback-like pack and I stuff everything in it for the day.
One thing I would add to everyone else's list is a Neat-Sheet. They are really lightweight and mostly waterproof, plus they're cheap enough to throw away if things get really muddy (although they can be washed several times).

They hold up in the wash????
I've washed one of the ones I have at least twice. I air dry it, though.
Is it really that much of a pain to carry your pack all day. I guess I look at it from a backpacking pov. I wear my pack all day and I tend to forget it's there.
i agree withy ou DogStar, After a while I dont even notice it anymore, even last year, and I had a one-shoulder bag with a huge waterbottle and a tshirt hanging from the strap, plus all the shi t inside. Ahh well.

I carried a back pack the whole time and the only thing that bothered me were the retarded ass tan lines i got from it, oh well, the convenience of having a bunch of your stuff with you is worth the fashion faux paux.
