Does anyone have any experience with or information about setting up shower tents at your campsite? Are there any special requirements for the runoff water? Any recommendations about brands? Is a shower tent a good idea?
I don't think there's any requirements (as long as your not using 100's gallons of water). PLEASE just make sure your run-off isn't running across everyone else's site. Same things with emptying coolers. One year my neighbor upstream kept emptying their coolers so it ran right into my site. I had to live in a swamp.
thank you. that sounds cool. do you know which brand of shower tent you used? i'm concerned about finding one that will stand on its own and support the shower bag.

I got a texsport deluxe camp shower. I tried setting it up at home and its really sturdy. It uses metal poles instead of fiberglass. It still fits easily in a generic tent bag. Supports the included 5 gallon shower bag without a problem.
For the people that had a camp shower before: How'd you go about refilling the water bag? take to a water station? Or did you have to? We're thinking about bringing one this year, so I was just wondering.
We brought in a bunch of water and still needed more so we used cooler water and let it warm up through the day before we used it. You can refill with bonnaroo water, but we heard it has that sulfer smell.

I've set up a shower tent the last two years and had no problems. The actual tent part I have is pretty cheap you probably couldn't hang a full water bag from it but I bought a shower pump made by Zido (?I think thats the brand name???????) for 10 bucks and it has almost as much pressure as my shower at home. As far as getting water goes, sometimes you can be a pretty good walk from a water station and carrying 5 gallon bags of water in that sun can be a real pain in the ass so last year we brought a little radio flyer wagon and used it to stock up on water and ice. It worked great! You can get all that stuff decently cheap at www.sportsmansguide.com/. Hope that helps.
Hey thanks guys! This really helps a lot. I think I might just buy one of those pumps, drop down in the cooler, and shower in some swimming trunks. That should get me clean enough. Karma
Last year we took a Zodi, it is a propane heated battery powered shower. You can find them on ebay for around 125.00.
You get those small propane fuels and hook on it. Light the burner and it will hear a 5 gal bucket of water in like minutes. There was a pump you put in the bucket and it would circulate the water up to the shower. It is really slick and worked out well for us. This is really the second year we used it at Roo. The first year we made a shower stall out of some shower curtains and wood. It did not work really well and people could see you showering. It did not bother us but last year we bought a portable shower tent and put up and it worked great. We got 5 gal water buffalo's at K-mart to carry the water.
Every morning we would get the neighbors to get the water and then we would let every one shower with it. It really works out great. If anyone wants to know about the shower more let me know.
This year we are going VIP though. I am on vacation and this is work.
I found this pump on another shower thread. I'll probably just go with this. It'd be nice to have the water heater, but we probably wouldn't use it besides when we go to Bonnaroo.
