There was one key thing I kinda missed out on during our first trip...and that was a lack of a flag, balloons, or some kind of unique camp identifier.
What kind of things do you guys use to identify your camp?
I'm trying to come up with ideas, and I'm afraid my current one involving ribbons hung from the tent poles like streamers is too girly and may be too much a mess, although the thought of them flowing in the wind is appealing. And if I let my bf pick something out, it will be something like a transformers cut out or a blow-up spiderman. ><

I think ribbons is pretty cool. Why not use ribbons atop a flag. Make you own flag out of an old sheet and your own art. Just make sure the pole is tall enough to see. I usually buy a 10ft piece of PVC pipe for about $3-$4.
Last year we made a flag out of a pillowcase for our campsite. It was my friends face on the body of hippie girl(long story). It ended up working out really great. People were always standing by it telling their friends to meet them by the "naked Jesus" flag. We might try something bigger this year though.

tell you the truth, i have a pretty good sense of direction even when in various states of sobriety, and don't usually have too much trouble finding the campsite after the 1st day.
i also kinda enjoy getting a little lost as i see nuts i wouldn't have normally seen otherwise
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

We didn't specifically bring a flag last year, but my friend had brought a tie-dye pillowcase and we put that up on a spare tent pole. Sadly it either got stolen or got blown away (blown away is more likely, I'd think). But somebody close to us had a Finding Nemo mylar balloon on a really long string, so it was ok. ;D
I actually love the streamer idea. If I drive down Im going to buy two or three pieces of PVC and put them together with straight connectors when I get there (so it fits in the car) and throw some streamers on it, And Im going to put something like 59348853 glow sticks on the top as well.

Ooohhh....aaaahhhhh.....I have a box of probably a few thousand CDs that my work was supposed to give out for promotion but never did. I should make one (or more....I could sell them...) of those spinner things. Hmmmm.....

I've only had a flag once but, by using surrounding tents and flags, i've never had any problem finding our tent. Just pay attention when you first head into Centeroo and you shouldn't have much trouble getting back.

In '04, I used the giant purple octopus as my nav point. Last year I sprung and bought a 5' diameter red balloon with 100' of multicolored streamer lanyard and 2 tanks of helium only to find it Friday morning laying across a dozen tents in Camp Rocky Balboa. I've searched high and low for a reasonably priced pig that resembles Pink Floyds but only find Porky Pig types.

Yeah, I also bought 500 bracelet glowsticks to tape all over it so I could have a psychedelic moon but the balloon is coated with a powder so it doesn't stick to itself when not inflated so I wasn't able to get anything to stick....so more ammo for the Radiohead show.

I'd guess it'll be fine if it's filled with helium. If it's 6 feet tall, and judging by how wide it looks, it should have enough volume for helium to lift it.
