…Now my only concern is money but I’m trying hard to work more hours and save every last penny which is kinda touch since I’m going to school full-time too. But I’ll stop complaining. I mean if thousands of other kids in my situation can manage then I’m sure I can as well.
i dont really manage. for april, may, and june I probably won't be leaving my house, and drinking PBR instead of anything else really. I figure it won't be that bad to live off of spaghetti and sauce for two and a half months. My trips to the grocery will be 15 bucks for a week of food.
Do the Infoo Roo Camping only. I planned on that last year and then ended up with a group to camp with. I still provided torch fuel, chairs and brought water for CrazyKitten since she was flying. There is a really good vibe at roo and if you put roots down in a good camp (Infoo Roo camping only) you will be fine. Don't not come because you are solo. As soon as you are with in 200 miles of Manchester you will be part of roo; solo or not.
hey, i'm new here, but i've decided to come down for the show this year, only problem, i live 2500 miles and nobody will come with me...so be it, i'm going solo too, hope to meet you all

i went wiht a group but onyl ever saw them all for the headliners, and just my friend mark for the latenights. the rest fo the time i just went off by myself; its better that way----you get to meet awesome people
I just found these boards a few days ago. I've been to Roo in 05 and 06 solo and I never knew there were so many solo peeps. In 05 I was basically clueless and got stuck in BFE. After a couple days I noticed the tent only camp, but It was to late to move. In 06 I had decided if I was stuck in the back, I would move to tent only. Well, I got slightly closer and stayed at my car.
I'll be back solo in 07 and reading this post makes me wonder if I should just PLAN on setting up in tent only. Im going to try a different route into the farm to get closer, but it still kinda feels really alone when your neighbors all have big groups (im kinda quiet dont want to force my presence on others)

I've seen and heard of more train wrecks from people going with someone they didn't really know rather than going solo. One girl that I didn't know at the time rode in from S. Cackalacky with someone she didn't know well, who ended up being impossibly annoying so she wandered off for about a day. When she came back to the campsite, everything was gone, including her duffelbag with wallet, ID, cell phone, and toiletries. The bitch stranded her with no way back to SC. The first reported bonnaroo death was a girl from Arkansas that went solo, got too f'ed up to know what she was doing, and OD'ed in the lot without anyone to look after her. Now with all that negative nancy crap out of the way, don't be afraid to 'roo solo. Remember to stay "sober enough" to maintain. Make friends in your campsite. Shout BONNAROO!!! alot.
How many have there been? (she says, morbidly curious)
A kid was hit by Ricky Skaggs' tour bus - I think that was the only death last year. In 04 & 05 it seems there was 1 one year and 2 the other, but I don't know which is which (assuming I'm remembering correctly at all)...don't know about the earlier years
'04 was the first year with deaths and there were 2 from the heat. So if others are correct there were 2 in 04, 1 in 05 and 1 in 06 for a total of 4. Rather amazing for the large crowds, especially considering there were estimates as high as 150,000 in 03 and 04.

'04 had 2 deaths, one was an OD and another was congenital heart failure (heat related). '05 had 1 death, sleep apnea. '06 had 1 death, ran in front of Skagg's bus. All things considered, it's a VERY low rate. Almost half a million people have been to roo. Your chances of buying the farm on the farm are 1 in 125,000. Your chances of ODing at roo are slim to none if you're safe and smart. Chances of anything bad happening are even less if everybody makes an effort to look out for each other, whether they are solo or with a group. Don't be skeered to help a stranger if you notice a need!
