My group is taking a pop up to roo and we already have a rv pass but do we need a Companion Vehicle Pass too for the truck that will be pulling the pop up?

No the RV pass covers the truck and the pull-behind camper.
from bonnaroo.com: An RV is defined as any vehicle larger either in length, width or height than a normal sixteen (16) passenger van. All oversized vehicles, trailers, and campers that are towed and busses are considered RVs.
You would only need a companion pass to allow a second vehicle in your group to park beside your pop-up.
