So, the festival ends the 17th, which is a sunday. Well, what time does the official festival end? Does it end at sunday midnight? or, does it go into the wee hours of the morning like the rest of the nights.
And, on monday, how late are you allowed to stay? Do you they enforce people to leave at a certain time?
I don't know exactly how long you're allowed to stay, but the headliner on Sunday night (Widespread) is the last scheduled act. Nothing in any of the tents or on the stages after that. Many people leave on Sunday, and i have always left on Sundays as well, thus i can not answer the other part of your question.
In '05, we were going to try to leave Sunday night, but there was no way we were getting out, so we left Sunday morning around 10ish. Last year we planned on staying until Monday, but again, even if we wanted to leave early there was no way we were getting out. How did you guys get your vehicles out of camp on Sundays?
Also, I do remember afew years ago somewhere it stating that everyone had to be gone by 3 on Monday, but its bonnaroo, so I don't know how well that holds up. We've always been gone by noon.
Well, last year we left right before Phil Lesh (later found out to be stupid but the majority of my group were seeing him in Philly a few weeks later and I sorta wanted to get out early) and we were able to move right out and I was able to get back to PA late monday afternoon. We plan on leaving monday this year (not missing WSP) but I agrre the offical time you gotta haul out is around 3-4ish. Try to get up and out a little before or around noona nd you should be golden.

I sure hate the way a festival feels when lots of people have left--it really feels like death to me. So I'll be getting out as soon as I can, while the life is still in it. (It's gonna depend on who's with me and also on what band's closing out the festival.)
I'm assuming I'll get caught in a big ol' line, though...
We got out on sunday right before the headliner, decided to get an early start on driving, you know. It was really difficult to get out though, there was alot of squeezing through cars and crossing fingers, and a little freaking out. We didnt hit anything, and we made it out. YAY!

Last year we moved our car to day parking on sunday morning and spent the whole day in centeroo. We left right after Phil Lesh and it was extemely easy to get out of the day parking. It sucked driving 2 1/2 hours to find a motel that wasn't disgustingly overpriced but it made the drive the next day a little easier with a shower and some rest in a bed.

Wow, that's not a bad idea. I'll probably consider doing that if it's possible.

Yea, squeezing out Sunday was rough at times. Had to go reeeaaalll slow and had to be just that extra bit careful but most people were aware that a car was coming as well so it wasnt too bad. As you said keep those fingers crossed and keep on trucking slowly and a sunday leave early isnt too bad.
