I wonder if that is really from Sunday in 05, I don't remember any wind or blowing tents like that last year, We had drunken neighbors to destroy our canopy.
i dont think it was on sunday. but it could have been. it all blurs together. but it thought it was earlier in the weekend. but it wasnt a real windy day. in fact as we were watching it we were commenting on how it wasnt even very windy. definitely an interesting sight. it got us to put a cooler in our tent so we wouldnt have to worrry about it.

last year on thursday as soon as we had set up camp we saw a tent go flying WAY WAY up there....we just laughed and thought how much it would suck to chase that thing around only to get it back broken. It landed and as soon as it did, someone threw it back up and it went again. Talk about a funny AND shitty way to start your weekend.

pretty sure those were last year. the wind would just pick up suddenly and then it was gone. our neighbors canopy took a little ride about 20-30 feet up and landed on our SUV. it was wild to see. we put it back the best we could but i ran into them that night as they were gettin back and they looked so confused, their door wasnt in the same spot as they left it! lol
That happened to my girlfriend and I in '05. We didn't even really remember it being windy but when we came back to our campsite one afternoon (I don't remember what day it was) our neighbors said that some really fierce wind took our shade tent which was staked down and it apparently wipped around in the wind wanting to take off. I guess our tough knot and stake job kept it there but in all reality we probably would have been better off if the wind had just took it and it landed somewhere because with it tied down it just ripped up and bent the frame so bad that it was complete garbage afterwards.

I can attest to the flying tent spectacle. It was last year(don't know if it happened other years or not), I think on Thursday. I was fairly sober, so I'm confident in what I saw
Those weren't really dirt devils. It was Superfly messing with us on their computers. They can see the whole festival from their PC and if they want to move something they can just click and drag it around. Kind of like The Sims. Somebody was just playing a horrible joke on us. Damn you Superfly!!!!!

Yeah it did happen last year. Somewhere I saw a post of tents up in the air. our area caught some wind and we ran around to our neigbors and used extra steaks we had.
Steak your tent down! and before you leave your campsite pull in chairs, and other things laying about so they don't get taken off by the wind, or get wet by the rain/

we went to dicks today, to look for a new tent. im complaining because i thought they would have a bigger selection, and the saleslady tries to come to my rescue. of course i want to know which is the best tent for me, and continue explaining that it will be really hot, and that sometimes there were tornadoes. she looked at me like i was an idiot, seriously. ahhhhh, what these people are gonna miss....

We were in pod 7 (I wish I could remember the name of our camp) and at about 11 on Friday as we were walking to see Ben Folds the tents started to take off, and the twister took our tarp and frame. Our tent had already melted to our trunk, so we set up our frame and tarp out of spite (my how punk of us!). The quality is not the best, but everything you see flying is part of a tent. I remember at one point tents would just take off straight into the air. I remember it felt like the Wizard of Oz how they would just float and spin in the air. It was actually quite funny to experience.
