Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
I was thinking the other day - the troughs, as I recall, did not have proper faucets. I remember them being threaded - looking like you could screw-on a hose.
It would be pretty sweet to cut a hose down to just a few feet and bring that to use in showering via trough.

Yeah they were threaded. I remember thinking damn i should have brought a garden hose and a shower head thing. I saw one person with a cut off garden hose taking a shower.
Just be sure you bring the hose section with the female-threaded fitting (I'm not making a joke here - they really call the two fittings male and female).
We purchased one of these relianceproducts.com/consumer/product/90.html filled it at the water station, carried back to the SUV, threw it on the roof and enjoyed a shower. We also purchased a clear water carrier fron the same company, the showerhead/hose fit on this carrier as well and we began to use the clear as cold showers were much nicer than hot at bonnaroo. the website i listed also has supplies for setting up a toilet tent........

This is one of the best things I brought last year. It's a 3x3 shower tent from Ozark, purchased at WallyWorld. Buy a couple solar shower bags and you're all set. If it wasn't being used as a shower, it doubled as a personal portapottie. Just get a 5 gallon bucket w/ a handle & lid, fill with enough water, add plenty of blue RV sanitizer/deoderizer to keep the smell to a bare minimum and get one of those handicap elevated toilet chairs to fit over it. Private and convenient...what more could you ask for?
A word of advice to you baby wipe types...use the unscented. The scented types attract bugs.
I also highly recommend the not fully showering until you get home/to a hotel afterwards option. That first shower after 4/5 days is INCREDIBLE. And its not like you're going to stand out in a crowd by not smelling fresh....
Of course this is all easy for me to say. I'm RVing it this year.
Wouldn't the water from that 3x3 shower tent saturate the ground around it , including your campsite ? I'm new to this whole camping thing, but I for one wouldn't like to be camping in a giant mud pit.

Do not yell back at me, I'm in no mood for my own tone of voice right now.
We used a similar shower tent in '04 with a group of nine people showering daily. I was worried about the campsite becoming a muddy mess, but it wasn't an issue. Maybe because it was so hot and the grass so thick, but all water soaked into the ground quickly. we did have a small tarp underneath the shower tent.
A bottle of rubbing alcohol & a roll of paper towels. Pour a splash of alcohol on a couple of towels, scrub your face, and then your hands. Worked wonders back when I did a lot of Greyhounding.

Purell or something like it works better. You can get a travel size for .50 at wally world. It'll cool you off too.

Purell's a little goopy, and although it'll sanitize your hands, it won't take the dirt off as well as straight isopropyl alcohol (which is the effective ingredient in Purell; that's why it cools you off).
Still definitely a good thing to carry around during the day.

It's goopier but that's a good thing, it stays where you want it to.
As far as actually cleaning dirt off, I like just plain water. The purell comes after that. To much alcohol on my face leaves it to dry ...
...come to think of it to much alcohol in my tummy tends to dry me out too
