???Okay, so we're new this Roo year and haven't come across much info relating to RV camping. Specifically, I'm wonding if you get water / elect. hook-ups. I am to assume that you do, but you never know. Additionally, are the RV sites packed? Yes again would be the expected answer but, don't know much about it. Any info would be most a-karma-cated. Peace...

Oh - this is my first post but have found EVERYTHING interesting. thx to all for patience w/ the newbies
I have never RV'd before but I am 99% sure no hookups are provided. With RVing you get a much bigger spot and can bring generators. The RV area is also in a pretty good location. Your RV ticket just allows you more comfort.
Thank you friend. We're towing an old beater but might as well use it is you got it. Just curious. Hmmmm. Is it really worth it?

I have only been two times before, once camping the other in an RV, I would prefer an RV, but camping is not all that bad. I think the roomyness is worth it.

K. It's a pop-up so it's probably going to be just as hot in the am as tent camp. I am not sure about a generator as they are noisy and don't want to be invasive. It definately would not get caught up in the "tornardo tent syndrome" though. I don't know....the drive is 10 hrs (waaaaaahhh) and a tent might just be easier. Indecisive. ST
Thanks! It is considered. I have read alot (seen your id on other subjects) about the Roo so far and have to say that I can't wait to just "be" with all of you great people for this time. I have been to all over country (gypsy) and too many shows but this will surely be a milestone for me. I am a bit settled now; well, somewhat, but am ready to lose my roo-ginity. These bands and fans stand to be amazing. Thanks again to all.

We had friends in a pop-up and we were in an RV. Be sure to place tarps over the canvas of the pop-up. Its best if you use poles instead of draping so you don't trap all the heat. Also if you have a cover for your AC unit use it, or cover it in aluminum foil (haven't tried the foil) but I know that AC works great in the evening and at night, but during the day it was working overtime and at one point froze up so we had to let it rest.
Thanks so much to all! This information is most appreciated and heeded as I did not know this. I think some people are deserving some karma points. How the heck do you do this?
I don't know if this will be of use to anyone but I ran across a site for old FEMA trailers that can be bought. Cheap! I doubt they have generators though.
Isn't it great that our tax dollars are going to buy trailers and mobile homes for Katrina victims that they are not allowed to use? Look in Alabama auctions for Katrina mobile homes which were never delivered and now are selling for $2000!
But if you need a camper for B-roo, FEMA's the place to buy.
I was just traveling on business and I stayed in New Orleans. One of the days I traveled to Hattiesburg, Mississippi. About 80 miles north of New Orleans was just thousands upon thousands of trailers (I found out later in the day that there were 20,000 of them) lined along the interstate in fields as far as the eye could see. Believe me you don't want one, they do not have a RV type refrigerator (one that runs on propane) and they looked trashed. If you are looking for a camper look on rvtraderonline.com remember you will need something to tow it with
The rest of New Orleans looked like the storm was last week...I feel bad for the people there.
