i saw they are not allowed. but i have been looking at pictures. noticed that people have them on top of there cars. i don't want to ride my bike at bonnaroo. i want to have it with me for the camping before and after we plan on doing. so what will happen if i have my bike in the trailer i plan on bringing. or on the roof of the R.V. can any one help?
I honestly didnt see anybody with a bike yet I see the pictures of it. I would think that they would grab it before hand off the car but i dont see the true function of it at Roo. too hard to ride and just easier to walk I would think

I saw a guy with a motorized scooter down ShakeDown in '04 (He was screaming "TORNADO!" and pointing at the sky) right before he rain but, that's my only experience.

Honestly? Your best bet is to contact them before planning anything. They might let you in as is, with a warning that they'll confiscate it if they catch you riding it on the premises. All of the suggestions, comments, and eyewitness reports you get here on Inforoo ain't gonna mean diddly if security says otherwise. Here's their email:

I got the same thing every time I replied to their email. It's just automation to weed out the 5000 'how do I get tickets?' emails and spam. Trust me, you'll get a human response soon enough.
I have a couple of friends that bring their bikes every year tied up on the back of their RV - not at all hidden. They use them all weekend traveling from one BFE to another on Bushy Branch. No one has ever said a word about them.

Try bonnaroo's myspace page. Its not really as official, but you'll get a human response. My guess is they wont mind you bringing it in, as long as you dont ride it. But as has been said, thats just a guess and may not be true.

There may not have been rules against their use in prior years. There are definitely rules against it now. Even if bikes were 'outlawed' in previous years, that doesn't mean they can't/won't enforce the rule more strictly this year.
Mule, if they keep giving you the "not allowed" line, ask them specifically what will happen if you ride in with a bike strapped to the back of your RV.

i did. sent them one saying that i did not plan on riding it and that i would not have the wheels on it or anything. got the same answer. just worded a little different
Hi Jesse,
We are sincerely sorry, but we cannot allow bicycles in the festival grounds.

A friend of mine rode cross country last year on his bike. One of his stops on his trip was bonnaroo and they allowed him onto the grounds with it. It was sitting at our campsite the whole weekend. As long as you tell them you don't plan on using it here, it's for mountain biking or whatever after the roo... i'm pretty sure you'll be fine. Bonnaroo is just telling you their rules stated in the fine lines. If anything, they'll hold it for you for the weekend, i would think.

It would be so fun to bring one. I would ride it up to Centeroo to save my energy for the music. Come to think of it...I haven't rode a bike in a while.

if I were to try and ride a bike now, i'd be out of breath in 10 seconds. lol.
I asked the same question last year and received a couple of answers that turned out to be true while I was at the fest:
1) If they see you ridding a bike past bushy Branch Road the security gets serious about stopping you. Security does not get serious about a lot but they did when a bike headed toward Centeroo - and Bushy is not that close.
2) I was told not to bring a bike because "ridding a bike is a bad idea, kind of like trying to ride a bike in a mall Christmas eve three hours before the stores close". They were right.
Also, last year was pretty dry. If some rain came in the clay we are all walking on becomes serious mud. It would be pretty hard to ride on, even for a serious mt. bike. I was disappointed but met some great people walking!

well the only thing i do not want to happen is them taking my bike. so i my plan is to not take the bikes i spent all the money on. find some out of the trash. new tires and handle grips. good to go have done it for all my friends. cant chance them taking a bike that is 1200+ dollars. if they take the ones i have spent 10 bucks on so what.
Just pull the front tire and the seat off and store it elsewhere. That should be enough to convince them you do not intend to ride it at Bonnaroo. Plus, a little "grease" would probably get you through the gates if you run into any trouble (those people are working for their ticket and could probably be persuaded with a crisp $20).

yea the more i read the more i want to just disassemble it. then put the parts in a different place. then go for it. i guess the grease is a good idea...
