Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Last year was our first year w/ an RV and conservation was the key. We didnt run the air during the day (most of the time from 2PM or so until midnight we were in centeroo). When we came back at night, it was already cooled off, so we didnt run the air then either. The first person to wake up in the morning would turn the generator on and we would run the air from about 8 AM until noon. As far as water, we just used it to wash our hair and QUICK showers, had it all pumped out before we left (there are trucks there to pump your waste tank and refill the water tank, $50 each last year). You will be surprised that you dont spend that much time at your RV really, just a few hours here and there, and the people around you are so nice, you dont want to spend it inside the RV.

It's good to hear that they offer the service of refills & removal. I'm buying an travel trailer tomorrow and the whole RV experience is completely new to me. Since there are no hookups, I'll have to fill my tanks before entering the festival grounds but don't want to do it until I hit Manchester so I can have the space and weight to bring along the tons of unnecessary items I have the bad habit of buying for Roo. Can I fill my fresh and gray water tanks at the local KOA or someplace similar for a reasonable price or can I (try) to fill up from a gas station water spigot(not the air/water thingy). Any advide for this rookie RV'r will be greatly appreciated.

Campground Opening / Closing Times The parking lot and campground will open at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday June 14, 2007. The parking lot and campground will close at 3:00 p.m. on Monday June 18, 2007. Please do not come early -- you will be turned away!
is this true for R.V.'s i wanna get in on wed night. any one get in on wed night?
As far as the question "will the KOA let you fill up with water", I doubt it since you are not a paying customer. Most truck stops have fresh water like Flying J.
Why won't you fill your fresh water tank at home? Are you that close to the weight you are towing? If so maybe you should look into a trailer that is within your tow vehicles towing capacity. A trailer (loaded) that weighs 80% of your tow vehicles maximum tow rating is a good place to start.
The water trucks were getting $50.00 per fill in the VIP area for water regardless if you took 10 or 100 gallons. Too much $$ as far as I'm concerned.
I did not need to be pumper out, it was only my Wife and I. We dumped on the way home. (www.rvdumps.com)
I currently have a plastic 55 gallon drum that I fill at the wash station and then fill the camper with. This type set up might be harder if you have a motor home compared to a travel trailer. And harder yet if you are in general RV camping vs VIP camping. It didn't look like the people in general VIP could get out easily.
Another option would be 7 gallon aqua containers and a radio flyer type wagon to transport the water. Then poor or siphon the water in the fresh water tank.
Hope this helps on the water side.
As far as the air conditioner, we used it in the morning and when we stooped back at the camper during the day.
If you are looking for generator information do a search under "generators"

Many thanks on the info. I can't fill up before I leave because I'll almost be at capacity if I use my truck (7200truck/6280trailer) and don't want to risk breaching capacity. My company just bought the trailer (2006 Keystone Outback Sydney Edition 27RLS) this week but I do have the option of using my bosses truck(8850 tow cap.) and would be able to safely tow and haul more junk. With all the extra stuff such as generator, EZups, chairs, hammock/stand, etc...I think I still want to fill the tanks somewhere in Manchester. Who knows, I'll just play it by ear and see what pans out. I'll be in VIP RV with my 11' rainbow Hypno Twister marking my site. See ya there!!
