we didnt buy any vendor beer. i think it was 3 dollars a beer. possibly 4. not too sure. we only drank at camp last year.
the food is failry resonable. id say your average meal is probably around 5 bucks. you can go cheap with dollar grilled cheese. and they are sooo damn good. awesome breakfast sandwhices for 3 -5 dollars. big slices of pizza are 3 bucks, the place called "i love spicey pie!!" is the best imo. chicken teriyaki was 7 dollars but it has a good amount of chicken, and a huge pile of rice and veggies. giant burritos were 8 bucks. but they are friggin giant!. damn im hungry! but ya its not the cheapest but they dont stick it to ya super bad either. i probably spend 25 bucks a day at roo on food. but im usually up 20 hours a day. so i eat alot. and i buy gatorade and water when im out walking around and not near camp.
also if you walk through the campgrounds there are lots of people that setup their own vending. their not supposed to but they do. and you can usually find hot dogs, hamburgers, quesadillas, breakfast sandwhiches, etc... for 2 bucks in the camp area. sometimes 1 dollar hotdogs.
Got myself a cheesesteak for 7 bucks and it was a bigger then average sized cheesesteak. And it mostly depends on how official your vendor is. I heard some people just saying they would sell 3 beers for 4 dollars in some places or others doing 2 dollars a beer but then the official places that sold beer, well, they were expensive.
I agree with dudewheresmyroo with the 25 a day. $25 bucks a day at most depending on what you like to get and if you alreayd brought enough food or water with you.
I have always felt that the beer prices in the venue as very reasonable. $5 for a big cup of Magic Hat and I am in bliss. I don't over do it with the beer because you learn quickly to pace your self or you will be sorry. I usually spend about $25 to $30 on beer at the shows each day. I carry all my own bottled water and usually go through at least 6 bottles a day. Pack your backpack full of snacks to get you through the day so you don't have to eat the garbage they all selling at concession.
I don't recall the EXACT prices for everything at the fest, though the food is usually better and a bit cheaper than mall food, if that implies that right thing.
If you wan't organic, you got it.
Wan't Mexican?
Asian?
American?
You will find it. The prices are around what you would expect them to be at an average festival. Nothing like what made the folks riot at Woodstock '99. No rip-offs. (Though IMO, WdsK '99 was simply bad timing and worse bands)
Beer is expensive as always. In 2006, 3 oz. samples were available for $1 each: which is cool, considering you can try 8-12 different beers and get your multi-label beer buzz for $10-15. But considering the heat, it would be best to stick to the samples and an occasional beer or two.
It would be best to check out the vendors around your campsite. It is not allowed by the festival, but it WILL happen. You will usually find the best deals around the best times. Trust me.

save your money man. last year breakfast was a Clif bar and juice or gookinade at camp, then brought homemade jerky and trailmix into roo with more nalgenes full of gookinade and backups of the powder to make it. lunch depends on how much you eat. snack it up if you can, if you are close to centeroo swing by the camsite for a sandwich on the go or hell spring for a quick vendor goodie. we usually have a decent meal for dinner before headliner goes on. last year it was burgers and dehydrated chicken teriyaki meals. basically my point is, its SO much cheaper to just bring your own stuff. Clif bars are great for energy and gookinade is great for staying hydrated and a great hangover cure! its actually called Gookinade Hydralyte. our group of 4 didnt spend over 25 on vendor food combined over the weekend. also seems like the vendor food wouldnt be so easy on the stomach and i would like to spend as little time in those porto potties as possible. :-)
Thanks, phishin, for turning me on to Gookinade Hydralite. It looks like the best "sports" drink out there. Even if it does have the same cpmposition of Mr. Gookin's sweat! Fluid out = fluid in. He should have made one for those of us who aren't athletes but mostly music junkies--a concert blend, if you will -- Rookinade maybe!
How are the flavors? I hope they are tasty. I will have to order from the internet since there are no retailers in the whole state of SC that sell it!! I spotted the Clif bars at Sams and decided they were high quality and no wheat (which acts as a laxative in my body).
I'm with you about less time in the porta potties!

no prob lauraroo! glad you got some good out of the info. i recommend orange flavored gookinade. to me it has the most pleasing flavor. we get the tubs that make 5 gallons. totally worth it! my friends were naysayers at first then after the 1st good hangover morning they were asking for it.
