my friend had his camelback taken out of our van last year. I think it was in the back and the doors were open. Luckily he didn't have anything worthwhile in there.

Four Bonnaroos and not one stolen item. We keep the car locked with anything valuable when not at camp. Get to know your neighbors (that's the best thing anyway, along with the music).

Last year some guys a couple of cars down from us... Well let me start over.
Last year on Mon. morning our friend is telling us that the guys a couple of spots down who wer already gone were doing something shady. He swore that he saw something. Well he is a paranoid guy and the guys down from us were absolutely cool as hell. We hungout a lot during the weekend and watched out for one another.
Well turns out our friend was right. We cannot find a backpack of ours anywhere and all weekend it held very important mason jars. We found the bag on the ground over where the neighbors had camped. Little did they know I emptied the backpack before I left it out that night.
This didn't happen at roo, it happened at 420fest, but still a funny story.. my buddies backpack dissapeared overnight one night, it was a pretty distinctive one with stickers and a patch on it.. had a lot of.. various items.. inside. anyway, it also had his 2 way radio inside. So anyway we're walkin along to get something to eat and he spies it on some guys back maybe 10 meters away.. i back up a bit and he walks up to get into the line for food behind the guy, and I start talkin into my two-way radio sayin things like "I am a stolen backpack. I am a stolen backpack. Take me off now you pr!ck!" sure enough, dude took it off and set it down and walked away REAL quick.. we didnt bother chasing em, it'll catch up to em some day!

oh I needed to laugh like that today - thank you thank you thank you
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
In '05, we had a huge bottle of Southern Comfort taken out of the cooler at our camp while we were gone. We were thinking it might have been roo workers checking camps for glass, but I never heard of them doing that during the festival.

2 roos and I never had anything stolen. I did give away my tent to a guy I camped with in '05 though. I didn't think I'd come back in '06... which I did and I ended up buying a new tent. This year I'm gonna buy another new "bigger" tent.
wow thank you so much for this thread, it just made me remember something fantastic from last year that i'd forgotten ;D
i voted no by the way, and didn't hear a story from anyone i talked to there about nuts getting taken. i saw a ton of people who were mistakenly thinking something was theirs, but they'd always put it down right away when they figured things out
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

:::knocks on wood::: No problems with anything coming up missing. We left our camp wide open and stashed our personals in the tent. Valuables stayed in the backpack that one of us always was in contact with and unmentionables were stashed...well, it wouldn't be a stash if I told you where I stashed it would it?? ;D

In 04,i went with a couple who were dating for a year prior, they fought the whole time. Finally, my buddy told her to leave the campsite, instead she found some dude and they chilled in the for a long time. so i guess you can say my buddy got his girlfriend stolen, ouch
Not theft happened to us last year. We did keep are stuff locked up if we all were not there in a car but other then that a good amount (grill, cooler, beers, food) all out and about. It was all there though everytime we came back. So here is hopping for another theft free and friendly Roo.

I've never been camped really close to centeroo or on a main aisle for traffic so we never had a lot of people go by our camp but we always seem to have a beer gremlin that removes some of our beers from the cooler each year (we leave them out in front of the tent with chairs and a table under the awning).... 2 roo's.... a couple beers.... no big deal, I've lost more stuff than has been stolen.
4th roo this year and haven't had anything taken. we keep things unlocked and the hookah set up in the tent...no problems yet. it just seems like such a safe place where nobody messes with you. you kinda have to look out for your neighbors. there does seem to be more sketchy people coming every year though thats not really into the music but just wanna go and be mischievous.

I always make sure to be extra cool to my neighbors and gave a reciprocal agreement to keep an eye out and let each other know who's in your group. I heard that last year there was a bunch of theiving going on, so be mindful of yer hookahs n such.

not a thing
i kept all of my valuables on my person the entire weekend in ziplocs in my camelbak (camera, money, airplane tickets, shuttle ticket, phone, wallet, etc...) since i was in tent only and didn't have a car to stash things in. it wasn't as cumbersome as it sounds! nothing in my tent/cooler got hassled, either.
I left my wallet on the floor in the movie tent last year, i literally stood up, went out the door and then turned around to go back and get it and someone had already swiped it.
Inside there was more that $100 in cash, and even worse all my identification: my health card, my drivers license and even my birth certificate, which was really important because i'm Canadian and i needed it to get back into the country.
I drove without a licence the whole way home, and surprisingly enough Canadian customs didn't even ask for my ID even though they searched the car. I guess i look pretty Canadian and harmless.
Anyways, i guess whoever swiped the wallet just dropped it, and some nice vendor found it and mailed it back to me, without the cash of course, but it was still better than trying to replace my ID.

i can survive on water bottles but people with camelbacks swear on them. there's little chance anything will get stolen if you put everythign away befor eleavign for the day.
^oh and i spent about 50 dollars a day inside of centeroo, don't knwo if that helps
