I used to be a professional sailor (a deckhand on tallships (they look like pirate ships)) so I basically lived with the sun, sweat, salt, acne dilemma. First off I want to say EVERYONE should where sunscreen "even if you don't get burnt" you'll still get the damage. I recommend sweat proof sunscreen, even if it's just for your face and regular for the rest of you. I used to not wear sunscreen because the regular stuff would sweat off and then I would get burnt even worse than without. Now this is stuff everyone already knows, sorry for sounding like a mom. When I sailed I used Neutrogena 45, sweatproof etc. I'm not going to lie, it is a little greasy, but I didn't have any extra problems with my acne prone face. I just washed with cleanser twice a day or so (and yes I had to use salt water most of the time.) We tried the gel sunscreen a few times, but it seems alcohol based and it would sort of peel off. As for washing, even if you're not in a regular habit I would wash at least once a day at the Roo, but if you change you regiment too radically you could actually cause more of a break out. Okay I'll stop now...I enjoyed everyone else's suggestions. (Gonna have to try the baking soda one!)
Bullfrog Mosquito Coast.......a two in one sunscreen and insect repellent......I used to work as a product development chemist for the company that makes it and it is great stuff and won't make your face break out (at least not mine). My fiance developed it.........I worked on Gold Bond, which is another Bonnaroo must!
