So anyone can suggest a good brand of earplugs. I tried foam ones before and they didnt work well. And I dont want to waste money buying up 8 different packages and trying them on. Wax? Plastic plugs? what do you use that works?

I planned on grabbing some from work (the little bullet-shaped foam plugs). They may not be perfect, but they'll definitely cut down on the noise. And they're light, so they should be pretty comfortable.
The bullet-shaped ones are great, but you do need to practice inserting them properly. Read the instructions carefully and do the thing where you put your left arm behind your head and pull out your right ear flap. I'm not kidding, this straightens out the ear canal and gets the plugs well-bedded so they don't pop out again.
If you want plugs for sleeping (what I use them for at 'roo) the cheapo foamies are fine. At the shows, the Etymotics (see Boomerangs post above) are really nice. That being said, IMO, the sound at 'roo shows doesn't usually get into the damaging range, and I'm pretty sensitive to that.

I wear foam ear plugs every night when I sleep because I'm a very light sleeper and if I don't want to wake up every 5 minutes, I have no other option.
I've gotten used to them by now and I love them! But, yes, you do have to pull out your ear and shove those things in there pretty good to get them to stay in.

Anyone having problems with the foam ear plugs might want to try Ear Ultra Fit earplugs (got mine at Lowes Hardware). I work 3rds and I swear by these puppies. They paved the street outside my bedroom window and I didn't even know it...

There is a brand called Hearos that my mom and brother use and they swear by them. My mom had really sensitive ears/hearing and they always work for her.
These are the one thing i forgot at my april festie that i really needed.. It was a small festie but people were up 24/7 and LOUD in my camping area.. I find them uncomfortable as well but i usually bring them
Here ar the earplugs I use. They are almost the max hearing block you can get I believe Maxlite NRR30. Highest I've seen is NRR32. These puppies are a god send. I couldn't wear the other ones work has (Those horrid yellow ones) and they started using these. They are wicked! I don't use them to watch a concert though, I use them to sleep at nite because I'm also a huge light sleeper!
I just use the cheap foam ones. Well, actually I got some free a while ago at a festival and keep taking them to roo but have never needed them. I'll keep bringing them though.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I went and bought some foam ones that were decently priced at Walgreens. Ha and they are pink. They make me giggle cause they are such a girly shade of pink. I plan to test it out tonight. And tell ya what I think. Sleep well everyone!
