Oooo! That gives me hope for an acoustic Damien Rice performance! He doesn't require much setup at all and he would absolutely kill! My Thursday night would definitely be booked if that happened.

where is the VIP pre party held? in VIP? one of the tents? will we not know for sure until we trade in our tickets? i know rebirth was in 06 but does anyone know who has done it in years past?

niceness! I'm absolutely psyched about this! I'm really wishing for Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Keller, or Old Crow Medicine Show. But really anything that will be that close and personal will be tubelar.

I'm not going to make any wishes for who might be performing, but I would like to have a stellar VIP Pre-party, followed by a surpise late night Thursday set. That would truely kick the weekend off

In 2005, the VIP pre-party band played in a tent-like bandshell just outside the VIP tent (on the highest part of the WHAT Stage field -- right after they finished, the bandshell was dismantled and carted off.
Last year a comedian -- the Dodge "Hemmy"guy -- preceded Rebirth. Not sure who we'll get this year... Old Crow Medicine Show would be awesome. You gotta figure it'll be someone who's not too big, isn't playing Thurs nite and requires very little setup time.
I see the comedy artist setting up during sunset and the band playing with the sun down. what time does this party start/end and does it conflict with music going on in centeroo
In years past, Thursday was pretty quiet as far as shows going on.The vip preparty went from like 7-10 .Free beer and catered dinner then a show, everthing else can wait.
