In a bit of a pickle for my planning. I am flying in with tents.canopies, ect. I am wondering how feasible it is to walk to Wal Mart to pick up a cooler/beer and maybe a couple chairs then carry all that stuff back to tent only.
I am getting to Bonnarroo around 11-noon on Thursday so I will have plenty of extra time after I get the camp set up. Sorry if this topic has been addressed, I did a search but could not find anything?
I figure it is going to suck but I feel like that is my only choice to have a comfortable/afordable weekend.
Thanks I am hoping my girlfriend's friend from Nashville is going to meet us out there and that would solve all my problems. Looks like it is a real far walk and I am going to need to conserva a lot of energy over the course of the festival.

That's cool. If you need anything, just pm me. I'll be happy to help.
i'm in the same boat, flying in, but that looks like a very doable walk. i'm thinking i'll give it a try after i get set up, if it doesn't workout i'll just live off the offerings on shakedown
Would 45 minutes each way be a good estimate? I am planning on taking it mellow on Thursday so I should get a good night's sleep to combat the fatigue from the shows and travelling and walking all the way in that brutal heat.
an hour or so there, an hour+ on the way back IF you walk quickly would be my guess. My guess is based on the walk from the far back BFE to centeroo which folks say can take upto an hour.. and dont forget you'll have stuff to carry on your way back.
its definately a hike, bring water with you!

Personally, I love walking. I don't have a car, and probably never will(They won't let me drive cos of my eyesight)
Its only brutal if you don't like walking.. bring water, dress appropriately, and wear comfy shoes(I'm wearin my trusty crocs for the trek from the greyhound to walmart on weds)
I have no problem with walking I walk a lot too and I do cardio at the gym 3-5 times a week. I have my crocs too so that's not a problem. I just know that I went to Coachella on Friday for one day only and I was BEAT by the end of the day so I know I want to conserve as much energy as possible. Hopefully those friends from Nashville will come through

When you first bought your crocs, did you get any blisters?
We'll see how it goes, I actually already put some cab #'s in my phone.. my first objective is to get some food, and after that I may not feel like walking much
Too crazy to try and pull yer vehicle out after you are in Roo eh? Too much hassle? I see you are allowed to drive out after Friday night. We are trying to get everything before we get to Roo, What I worry about is not having enough of WHATEVER>.........
Hey - it's not impossible, i did it in 04 when i was in a similar situation, the annoying part was trying to lug all our shit back, but then some dude gave us a ride in the back of his pickup...
I'd say it would take 30-40 minutes each way.
The best way to walk is the same back way the Shuttle bus drives you into the festival grounds, assuming it still takes the same route. Either way, you go down towards the southeast forest-area and take a right once you cross the bridge, onto a road which according to google maps is called Grosch Drive. From there it's pretty much a straight road to walmart, maybe about a mile.
30-40 minutes isn't that bad. I will have plenty of time on thursday before the music starts. Maybe I can also get a ride back from people coming into the festival!
