Sorry if all this has been covered elsewhere. I looked (really!) but couldn't find the answers.
Ok, so I see you can camp at your car, which sounds cool...but the downside is you're probably a long way from the action. So a lot of people prefer Tent Only, which is closer to the music. Is this basically right? And you just leave your stuff in Tent Only and go over the stage(s) and your stuff is safe where you left it?
Let's say I actually wanted to snooze a little at night. Is anybody sleeping at all or is it rock'n'roll all night? Better chances of getting some zzzz in Tent Only or back at the car?
I probably can't get to Manchester till Friday or maybe even Saturday morning. Think there will be any space left for camping at Tent Only or am I better off just staying with my car by then? Related question: if I come in that late, am I basically guaranteed to be parking 50 minutes away from the stages?
I see some people referring to BFE. What's that?
Last question (promise). I have to leave Saturday night or Sunday morning. Is this a major hassle or is it reasonably easy to just leave when you need to?
Thanks for listening and, with any luck, answering. Looking forward to my first 'roo!!
Second, you can sleep, bring some earplugs, and catch those zzz's until the sun/heat wakes you. Then, move to a shady tree and nap in the grass!
Third, getting in that late? I really don't know. I would imagine tent only would be pretty full by then. Can't say where you will get parked, no one really can.
Thats really early to leave. You are going to be parked in as all hell, I'd say. There will be rows of cars with tents all around them, unless you are in day parking, which I hear is a hassle.
If you absolutely HAVE TO leave that early, it's best to do Day parking (park outside and walk in -long walk) otherwise there's a GOOD chance you can't get out.
You might be getting in early saturday morning and leaving saturday night? I love Bonnaroo as much as the next Inforooer, but I don't know if I'd pay 240 dollars and make the trek all the way to Manchester for just one day of shows. To me, hanging out at camp after a long day in Centeroo and enjoying the wares on shakedown street are nearly as important as the shows. Anyone with me?
I wouldn't even want to do it for two days, but I know people do. Hey, if you're doing it to check out the scene and see the Police (the tickets are about the same as their tour tickets, aren't they?), then I guess I could see it, but I'm with Justinroo for sure. Once I got there, I didn't want to leave! Monday morning was the saddest day ever.
I guess the cost of ticket is relevant to whoever's buying it, but I gotta soak up all four days. More power to ya, though.
Thanks for your answers, all. I know, it seems ridiculous to stay for such a short time. But sometimes life and family stuff gets in the way of music stuff!
One last question for anyone still listening: If I do "day parking," which would allow me to get out before the end of 'roo, does anyone know if I can still leave the car there overnight and go down to Tent Only for camping? Or do they actually expect the "day parking" people to leave at night?

I'm not sure about leaving your car overnight in Day Parking, but I am pretty sure that they are Nazi's about not allowing you to set up ANY kind of camp in Day Parking - not even a small shade canopy. If you park there, they expect you to park your car and immediately go into Centeroo and only return to your car when you are ready to leave for the day. Even so, it sounds like the Day Lot is your best bet.
if one is flying in, and attemting to carry everything, how does one accomplish that in practical terms?? I figure I'll get an internal frame backpack, and you can strap your tent onto that right? I am loath to bring my big purple suitcase and risk looking like a damn fool!

^^ Sounds about right. Having the right tent makes all the difference when backpacking. A solo bivvy or lightweight 2-man can pack smaller than most sleeping bags these days.

I for some reason have heard that you could not bring an internal frame pack with you. I have no proof off of the top of my head on this, but I think I read that somewhere on here.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

You did. You CAN bring the pack onto the farm, you CAN'T bring it into Centeroo.
as far as framepacks go, yeah the lighter the better for your tent in normal backpacking circumstances, but for roo your tent can be a bit heavier.. you wont be hiking up any mountains
My festie tents packed weight is around 10lbs and ill be bringing that on my framepack.. mines an external frame though, in my experience the externals have more of an unpacked weight but you can attach heavier gear to the outside
