Yes finished that fast, its called Obsessive Compulsive Disorder! hehehehe Actually all I had to sew on today was the lettering which I traced onto paper first, then did the green border on the outside. Then I used an old quilt for the inside of it, and an old sheet for the backing. Everything I use is pretty much used old stuff from around the house and its all machine sewn onto the fabric. Its actually so quick, and easy! The trick for the lettering???? Its called Double back fusing. Its like a thin coating of plastic kind of....... You trace the letters onto the paper, then cut the paper out (Each letter) then you iron on the paper to the material, then you peel off the paper, then iron the letter onto the main quilt. Then I do a maching stick (ZIGZAG) around the outside of the lettering. Quite simple really, just like hockey jerseys with the numbers etc........
Ok let me check out the 04 theme and get back to you. I have to tell ya, these aren't quilts that are super ummmm thats what makes them mine. A thread sticking out here, a seam not quite straight there....... And so on.
Hey Angry Sunday! OMG You gotta be nuts! hehehee ;D
I took a look at the 04 poster and saw its the Godzilla, and school buses, guitars etc. Much too much detail for a month's notice. Though it is a kool one. See first I drawy it freehand and that would take quite some time. The quilt that I made is now a queen sized quilt. Thats quite alot of detail for a month.
Hey please do come over and have a sit down with us on the Bonnaroo quilts that I make though for the Festie!

I've seen the Godzilla - Bus poster. I thought you were getting your images from the website headers or the ticket themes. Come to think of it, the '04 ticket theme is kinda weak.
i'm going where the sun keeps shining, thru' the pouring rain, going where the weather suits my clothes. backing off of the north east wind, sailing on summer breeze, and skipping over the ocean like a stone.
man that thing looks comfortable. also seem slike one of those items were youll curl up on it or lay on it at Roo, then everyother time you use it at home, it takes you right back.
Ok finally my crafty efforts are complete. The top of an applique quilt is the toughest to get completed. This was done at 2am this morning after many chats with hubby on logistics of the quilt, where the hands go etc. Now I will sew this comleted top of the quilt onto an old quilt I had hanging around the house collecting dust. People, this is a great way to get rid of old unwanted blankets that are of no use anymore. Normally when I quilt, I do use the quilt baton but this time its going to be dragged around from centeroo to camp etc for 4 days
Thats very nice, and the Thomas book made me laugh, as i have a 14 month old so i know how it is to have kid stuff everywhere. *opens soul to show softy side* My grandmother makes quilts for everyone in the family for different occasions, and the ones i have are very special to me. I would absolutely die though if she made me a roo themed one! I know the humor of that doesnt translate well, but picture a little 80 year old deep south Christian all of her life lady who is as good as gold but mean as a snake too. I'm 5'11' and about 260, shes about 5'0" with heels and finally topped the scales at 100 pounds last year, but she still doesn't hesitate to grab me by the ear and kick me in the butt when I need it.

Yah For Grandmothers! Aren't they just the most hilarious! I had a little trouble from my almost 16 year old son and out to my parents he went for the weekend to work on the farm. Brandy (My son) knows trouble from me but when he gets it from my parents, ooooooooo watch out! My parents are super hippies though so a good stern talking to is what he gets, then its party time after for the rest of the weekend. He built a deck with Grampa the rest of the weekend. I love sending him out there when he has been naughty because they can really get through to him unlike "Mom" sometimes. My kids all attend Bluesfest with us every year and love it! My daughters Nicole and Julien all received guitar picks from "Sting" when at Bluesfest in ummm 1999? Or maybe it was 2001? I can't remember, we've been going for so long but I had the kids set up on the barracade and Sting did a curtsy for them and handed them the picks. Too kewl!
Oh and YAH! I have finally finished 2 quilts for Bonnaroo and thats it I believe! I am done quilting for another month until I make the quilt for the upcoming Ottawa Bluesfest!
(I'm still looking at that 2006 bonnaroo style though. That would be a Quickie!)
