Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Okay so I'm getting antsy and getting ready to go in to planning mode.
I know a few of us VIP Tenter folks have talked about caravaning from the secret rendevous point over to the campsite, so we can set up a super tent only camp or something of the sort.
If you plan on kickin' it with the VIP inforoosters at Camp Mimosas in the Grass, let us know when you may be arriving so that I can pick a time when the most of us plan on arriving so we can like, streamline or something.
Or so I can just think about when I should bother showing up.
bonnnarroooooo!
edit: fixed my tent-only kinda-typo. IN vip with a tent. Can't fix the polls but the ninjas will know what I mean.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
We are shooting for leaving HIE at around 10ish. (Hope that is still the rendevous point...) I am assuming you mean tent camping in VIP. Karma for planning ahead - I suck at it - other than buying my tickets!!!

We'll be in the parking lot of the secret location whent he sun comes up and probably chill there till we know that it's good to go to the VIP area. So we'll probably see ya at the parking lot.

I really hope they let us in Wednesday night since Thursday is now a festival day. I sure dont want to hit the secret location at 10:00am, set up camp and hope to catch a 1:00pm show. I guess we won't know anything until 5/20/07, though.
I didn't think the music started until 6 or 7pm on thurs?
Correct, that's how it was last year, but Bonnaroo announced that Thursday would be a festival day in 2007. I don't know if it's just hype/advertising or if the schedule will really change.
Since we don't have def plans for Wed night I voted between 9 & 12. But depending on traffic I want to be there when it opens. Was going to book a room there, but waited to long. May stay near 'Nooga & get up super early.
Were leaving murfreesboro aroun 8am so hopefully wont take more than 4 hours to get to the spot and into the camp ground. Ideally I would like to be setup by noon and take a stroll down shakedown before the music starts

I'm leaving from Atlanta (Approx 3hrs) but I don't want to drive or get stuck in rush hour traffic so I'll probably leave Wed around 4am, putting me there around 7am and just tailgate it for a while in the secret location.

we're leaving Chicago around 10pm Wednesday night and will be waiting anxiously in the parking lot to get our braclets so we can be inside The Farm as early as possible. can't wait!
I'm becoming very jealous of you folks with only a couple hours worth of driving. Now, I have never found that 8 or so hour trip to TN that bad a drive, but damn it would be nice to not already be worn out when I get there.
I haven't voted quite yet, but I imagine we'll arrive to get our tickets when it opens. That involves rolling out around midnight though, I think I'd rather sleep a little longer and roll out around 3am-4am. I get tired around then when I'm trying to drive through the night.
My car is a stick and my boyfriend can't drive stick. Any tips on teaching him between now and then? That would be really nice even if I'd have to take a muscle relaxer while he was driving my car.

Umm. Dump him for a guy who knows how to drive a stick. Shouldn't he know how to do that by now? Don't let him learn on your car. Don't waste your clutch.

Once you're rolling on the expressway, shifting a stick is a cake-walk. As long as he can get it rolling without totally killing the engine, you'll be fine until the next gas stop.
I would take him to an empty parking lot, after teaching him how to shift gears in a non-moving vehicle. It just takes time and you not worrying too much about the abuse on your clutch to get good at taking off. I always try to show the pedal movements with my hands - clutch out, gas in - at the same rate. Good luck! Know ahead of time that it will be frustrating to him and nerve-wracking for yourself and may take several trips to an empty lot to get him up to speed.

That was much nicer and more helpful than my comment. Sorry, I must just be in a mood today. I guess I need to limit my post until my attitude improves.

How about driving up the night before, camping in Wal-Mart, sleeping late, and rolling in when the gates open on Thursday morning? That's what I'm planning on doing.
This is the first I've heard about the secret location??? Is HIE Holiday Inn Express? In Manchester I assume. We stop there and get our stuff before going to the actual site?

It's our friends 21st birthday that Wednesday night, and he's going to Bonnaroo with us. We just decided that we're all going to arrive into Manchester that Wednesday night and find a little local dive bar in Manchester and just get completely sloshed, then we're gonna camp out in our car for the night in the hotel parking lot. Should work out pretty good.
So, if any of you are hanging out around the Manchester area that night with nothing to do, you will probably find 6 guys getting rowdy at one of the bars and are more than welcome to join. Bars close at 2 in Tennessee right?

I feel your pain, I'm driving with my ex-boyfriend (who "hates" driving and will totally wimp out.... hence the "ex" part ) and a dear friend who doesn't have a license
And my drive is 15+ hours..... but the same thing happened to me 2 years ago and it wasn't so bad - bit of advice - Lewis Black (and probably any other comedy cd's) help to keep you awake in the wee hours better than music!
