This question has probably been asked before, and if so, my apologies:
Two of my friends and I planned to take a car from Connecticut down to Bonnaroo, but recently those plans fell through and now it looks like the only way for us to get there is by bus. I know there's a Greyhound station within walking distance of the festival, but I checked the schedule and the only bus we'd be able to take arrives at 4:00 PM on Wednesday.
I understand that if you arrive early by car, they usually stick you out in BFE, but what if you arrive early on foot? Do they prohibit you completely or just direct you straight to tent only?
This doesn't really answer your question, but I am also arriving by Greyhound.. I'm gonna hang out at Walmart until the gates open and get a ride in. We'll end up in BFE, and I'll walk to tent only in the morning/
They will not let you camp in tent only on wed night, it doesnt open til thurs mornin

Ah, all right, thank you. I guess what I really wanted to know is if tent only is closed until Thursday morning. I feel better now that I know it for sure.

Hey Wooz - looks like you won't be making a real long hike to tent only - we will prolly end up in Access camping thanks to my ankle and Boz leg and back

While I certainly wouldn't endorse someone trying to break the rules, I can tell you ( ::cough:: from experience ::cough:: ) that in 2006, you were able to set up shop late night on Wednesday. We received some vocal grief, but no follow up, and in retrospect, it really wasn't the best move for our personal situation, but it was the route we took, so we made the best out of it. If well prepared though, I can see it being ok. That said, who knows how it will go down this year.

From what people have said, I think my best bet would be to arrive Wednesday, sleep wherever they put me (likely far away from Centeroo), then just haul my junk to tent only the next morning.

I can just about promise you that's the best route.
I'm sure if you're taking Greyhound you won't be too weighted down with crap, but if you are, you might want to find someone with a cart to get you up there. Lugging the fully packed cooler from the car (in bfe) to tent only last year was almost a deal breaker. If not for the kind soul with a, bulldozer like, gardening wagon who let us add on, we'd have been pretty fu*ked.
Edit: In our slightly less than coherent states, we had walked our tent into the fest in the late night, but then decided to roll the car in later in the night...yeah...those 'good ideas' can get ya. ;D
