I was in Jersey this weekend picking up my camping gear. I used to have a small apartment so I kept that stuff at the parents for the winter. And basically realized, what's the point of taking it out and re-packing. So apart from some clothes, and some people my car is officially packed for roo!
I just felt the need to share that. It makes me smile every time I get in my car! ;D

i think i was worse last year, i set up my tent in my living room for about 3 days just for fun. my roommate did not love that
I had my tent up this weekend in my dining room for 2 days! My cat loved that thing. If we couldn't find her, we knew where she would be. It was sad to have to take it down, but we couldn't walk in the living room with all the extra furniture!

LOL that's funny cause as I wrote that I was thinking how crazy my two cats would be (I didn't have them last year) if I did that this year... it actually would be kinda funny to see them hopping around and exploring the tent!
Ugh, it's such a pain to get it back in the bag/box though, that I probably wouldn't for that reason alone!

impressive. last year we werent fully packed til getting on the highway and then going back home around 10 oclock thursday morning. i hope to realize what ive forgotten before i get on the highway this year.
It's never too early to go through your stuff and see what you might be missing. I started a camping list along time ago. Each year when I realize I'm needing sometime I didn't bring, I add it to the list for next year. I will have to revise the list for festival camping. It has all the thing I use wilderness camping. I guess I can leave the bear spray home.
My "stuff" is in the basement, by the car, ready to go. Tent has been up twice...practice. 2 hours to get the tent up the first time...1 hour to get it back in the bag 15 minutes the next time...but the shade tent...dear God don't get me started

I set up a check list in illustrator for purchases, food & packing. My girl says I too am obsessesed. I tell her you don't go to one of the biggest summer festies and half-ass it.
She will appreciate the extra effort when were there.
I keep my camping gear in a couple rubbermade tubs so I never pack or unpack (except at the campsite) That way I know everythings there, even stuff I've forgotten about since last year. I still need to set up my new canopy as practice and search through some tarps.but that's it
I spent yesterday (since my modem was down) adding Roo stuff to tubs, washing camping blankets and boxing a little food. I'm 95% packed and ready.

That is what we have done - with the exception of the tent - need to get that out and set it up - go over it with seam sealer and we will be pretty good to go - just pack coolers and buy the EZ up that I want

You guys make me feel so unprepared!!! Is it time to start runing around screaming and pulling my hair out yet? I'm gonna be freaking near the end! All I will be able to think is *I know I forgot something, I know I forgot something* It will be my mantra till I get there, then I wont care anymore because I will be having so much fun Right?

don't stress - if you forget something - stop at Walmart and buy it - if you are already camped - ask around - someone may share - just DO NOT forget your tickets!
now......that may be something I actually forget. I can see that happening!
same, uhg!!
I not only can see myself forgetting tickets, I've done it.... several times, so many times for so many events that all my roo buddies ask me several times if I have them.

I hear ya went to big Cypress from Jerzee in 1999 got to Virginia when I asked my brother hey you got the tickets right? Ouch, head back. Now it's the biggest check box on my list.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
i never worry about forgetting things cause inevitably it happens and most likely you have something other people need... so sharing always ensues naturally at the roo
