Feeling uncomfortable about this if it's true-- not the least reason because it would be a big switch after tickets were purchased. If they were doing this ahead of time and announced it before tickets bought, I could understand it.
I go VIP almost exclusively because of proximity, but with some added benefits. But if proximity was available regardless in an RV, I would buy GA tickets and sell my VIP on ebay.
Considering that the VIP RV pass went UP this year in price, I would be shocked to learn they're playing switcharoo.
You know, now that I reread all we've posted here... I wonder if the person speaking on behalf of Roo meant that they are consolidating all of the GA RV areas, as in, all in one. (In the past the RV GA areas were a bit spread out.)

that would be good too (dont want to be in RV BFE)
anyway, I thought that the main RV section was fairly close to tent only?
I remember a few random RV's in different locations off of shakedown streets...but thought the majority were (if you were standing in camp inforoo, facing the stage) down the street to the left?

I called the 1-800 # and explained that there was a nasty rumor floating around about what was mentioned in the first post and what I needed to do in order to have my VIP tix refunded. The guy reassured me many many times that it was not the case and that there will be separate areas. So I rephrased my concerns only to be reassured that there will not be a combined GA/VIP rv area. Thank you Joe Pesci.

Who starts these rumors? Got me all worked up for nothing! I had enough trouble with the info@bonnaroo people over that RV + companion pass issue. I ended up buying my passes 3 times before they sorted it all out. If you want the good info, always go to AC entertainment, they know all. Those guys at info@bonnaroo.com, need to get a clue. I need to go for a walk now and calm down.
