Hey now...
So, one of the girls coming with us has recently screwed up her foot and needs surgery (but it won't happen until after the festival). She has a hard time walking on it for extended times and I am wondering if Accessible camping is needed. We will be in an RV with a total of 6 or 7 people. I don't want to seem like a leech on the Accessible camping, but I am worried about her ability to keep up all weekend with long treks to and from the RV camping.
You're going to need a placard or a license plate to get that rv anywhere near Access Parking. Her doctor could probably facilitate getting a temporary one. Might be alot of bureaucratic mumbo jumbo to deal with. I'd start now.
Even with access camping, there will be mucho walking on uneven terrain. I bring a pair of crutches every year whether I feel like I'm going to need them or not(bum joints-Rheumatoid arthritis).
Best to be over prepared if there might be an issue.
^^I agree - in Mississippi it is a simple form that the doc fills out and you take to the place you get your car tag. I did mine yesterday because my old placard was expired.

Thanks.
She is planning on bringing her crutches in case she needs them (which I think she will). She can get a handicap placard, so I guess I will tell her to get it and at least we will have the option.
I've camped in the Handicapped area for the last 3 years and I have never really noticed a space problem.
Appreciate the notion, though MoeTrain for sure ! Karma for looking out !
But as long as she can get the placard from the doctor, that's legit enough for me.
It will also help facillitate getting in in my experience. There is one line they suggest for Access camping, and if you hold up your placard to the staff, they'll expedite for you, as that was the line created mostly for you !

I tried to camp in accessible parking 3 roos ago, when I was recovering from being hit by a semi. I had the placard and everything, but some douchebag wouldn't let my friends in with me, and I had all their gear in a jeep I was driving. Maybe there is plenty of space because they don't let everyone who needs accessible camping to use it.
I emailed bonnaroo about this early. They said we can have a companion car with us even.
yeah, thats what i thought
That is the way O read it in the Access Guide because we have another car going with us and I would hate to not have them near us since this is their first 'roo
Word ! Flash yer placard. Show 'em ya know the rules. Every time I've been in accessible camping I've had a companion vehicle with me. Just let 'em know. If they give you any crap, ask to see their boss. Or call Becca !!
