'06 was my first Roo/festival and I went solo. My experience was great because of being a part of Camp Inforoo, so I'm heading out solo again this year.
From the Camp Inforoo post I noticed that there are a lot soloroosters this year. Since the Camp Inforoo post has reached an impressive 15 pages, and it's hard to dig thru and find all the lone travelers, I figured it was about time to start another post.
If you haven't been to Roo alone before and need reassurance that others are going stag too, I thought this might be a good place to find others like yourself.
Going solo gives you a great opportunity to make a bunch of crazy new friends. Hopefully, this will get the ball rolling before Roo so you don't feel intimidated walking up to a big group of strangers without a wingman or winger (term my friend and I use to refer to the female equivalent of a wingman).
it is funny because I have a small crew of freinds coming with me but on the inside I would love to go to Roo solo.
I could camp in camp inforoo, go to allll the shows that Iwanted, make traveling and packing easier, and chill with a whole lot more random people. Bet goin solo is a blast!!
This will be my third 'Roo and my second as a solorooster. I'll be kickin' it VIP style. Went solo VIP last year too. I met up with some old friends who were camping in gen pop, and I made a bunch of new friends, but flew solo most of the weekend. I got to go to the shows I wanted when I wanted without any arguements. If you are thinking of going solo, by all means go for it!!!

I almost picked yes - my friends flaked, but, lol, it wasn't entirely like that. So, I'm the one solo roobie vote thusfar. I'll be on my own, as of right now. My friend, who was flip-floppin, now has legitimate needs to stay home this time. I love her and we travel well together, but I am psyched to be on my own. As much as I'd love someone back home to share the memories with, I think it'll be pretty deep to take it all in alone. My independent spirit needs a boost.
I voted as a returning soloer as I always go solo but this year a friend has asked and may come along so take it for what it's worth. Solo is the best!
Glad to see that all the soloroosters seem to be solo by choice. Last year I ended up solo because someone decided to bail at the last minute (after saying not only would he go, but he would buy my ticket). I decided to go anyway and it was probably a far better experience than if I had gone with anyone else.
With the Inforoo crowd, you'll never really feel alone, but you also won't ever feel like you have anyone else to answer to which is nice.
Second Roo and second solo. I asked my brother if he wanted to go this year but he couldn't make it. Camp Inforoo was great last year. Best strangers I ever met. ;D

I say we start up if your solo and want to go to a show with someone list the show you want to see and whoever wants to see that also and wouldnt mind someone to go with can go together =D

This will be my second time at bonnaroo, and going solo. Last year my friends bailed but I made it up anyways. Ended up being one of the best experiences ever. I met so many random and cool people.
I'll probably be camping @ inforoo this year, so im sure its gonna be a blast

Sounds good to me. Only problem is that I am really indecisive sometimes so I'm not sure I have figured my whole Roo show schedule out yet. Why don't you start the list up and other people can let you know which ones you have in common with them?
Second solo Roo, but I must have been to a dozen solo festivals and and couple of hundred solo concerts over the years. I love my family and we do a lot togther but music is my thing and I don't like having divided loyalties.

Flaming Lips - Ben harper- Spoon - Rx bandits- franti and spearhead - wilco - wolfmother, oh yea the roots and STS9. Seems like a lot of us camping @ inforoo so im sure we'll meet up anyways

Well said Brian, my sentiments exactly! Thanks again for PMing me those pics. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but you were the guy sketching people last year, right? Did you ever scan any of the drawings you did of the Inforoo crowd. I'd love to see them.

Haha yeah i'm going to be a first-timer and a soloroo, no less. It's good to see that there are other people heading off solo, because i'm not going to lie when i say that i was a bit nervous about that. My friends are good people but we've got completely different tastes in music (not to mention it's a fair bit of money all in all for us university students), so even if i did want to head down with some friends it would be fairly hard to convince them. But mostly i had wanted to make it a personal adventure of some sorts. Some things are more thrilling when you do-it-yourself, and traveling on my own for the first time only adds onto that.

Going solo is awsome, I went last year and had the time of my life, met some great people and had soooooooo much fun. I will be comming again this year most likely by myself. See all you crazy people there
