Hey all!
I was wondering what everyone was doing music-wise at the campsite. The last couple years I just brought this little boombox thing with me. But my music was being drowned out by a clearly more powerful system near-by. I was just wondering what else I could bring with a bit more power...VOLUME!! ;D But obviously has to be run on batteries. What are the rest of ya'll doing? Any suggestions??
Always bring a boombox but rarely used it except maybe Thursday or early AM on low volume. The little time I was in camp I usually just sat and listened to whoever was playing on stage.

I have the coolest little JBL's ... completely portable (A/C and batteries) and has kick-ass sound. I've travelled with it many times, it's super convenient, about the size of a flask. It hooks right up to anything with an audio out ... ipod, zen, cd player, whatever. I love it, it's sooo coming to 'roo.
I second Sirius 17!!! I'm flying, so I'll just listen to whoever is playing. But Jam-On was a savior last summer when I had to wait 8 hours to get into the Gathering of the Vibes. If I was driving I'd bring my sirius gear for sure.
This is the best boombox known to man. TRUST ME. I bought one like 10 years ago and it is still my main stereo. It's expensive, but well worth it! This may be the best electronic device I ever bought. I really love this thing (they discontinued them for awhile and now they just started making them again):

COOL!! ;D I would love to get that thing, but I dunno if I can gather enough money in addition to the money I've been saving for the trip already. We'll see. Thanks for all the input everybody!!

I have an ipod boombox that also has AM/FM and a CD (Slot) player. It is battery operated but I have a little $20 gadget to hook it into the car. plays well and has a nice remote too.
got it at Kohls on a sale for $79 which is really good for an ipod docking boombox. Originally $150-175 ish

For as little time as we spend actually chilling in camp, I just come with a full tank of gas and let my car speakers do the rest...as long as you run your car a while each day you won't kill your battery as fast, or at all.
we picked up a boombox last year at a pawn shop - that way if it got destroyed - it was no big deal - think we paid like $20.00 for it - radio, cd player - think 1980's size boom box - it is big with detachable speakers

Just learn to play guitar and bring that. Sure enough, the dude next to you plays too and the guy 3 tents down has some quality bongos. After a couple songs, a dude from down the road shows up with a trombone and you have a band!

It would be cool to bring a boombox...but I can't find anything that is not an i-pod docking station. am I the only cd listener anymore?!
No way! I'm proud of my Record, Cassette and CD collection. NO I-POD! I'm proud of my actual library of music. Hey...I still make mix tapes.....many of which will be blasting at Bonnaroo!!
