I have a multiple part question. Me and 3 friends are driving up from Florida and have never been before. So I'm trying to get an idea for what to expect.
1. If we're bringing up say 30-40 cans of beer in our cooler, do they ID you when you drive in?
2. Has anyone ever been asked to step out of the car and be searched on the persons? Cause it would suck to start out the Roo getting frisked by some sort of swine who's bloodlust for hippies has been heightened at the sight of 80,000.
3. At the arch, what's the searching like there? Is it like the New Orleans Jazzfest where they just ask you to open up your back pack if you have one, and they look inside?
Anyways I'm burning with anticipation and can't wait to go, thx for any help!
1. They will not ID you when you come in. Obviously, getting pulled over on your way to Roo is a different story, but it won't happen when you get there.
2. You could get frisked at the gate, but usually only if they have some reason to do it...ie found druqs or something of that nature.
3. The searching is never the same. My advise is to step back and watch the lines...the lines that move faster are the ones to get in. Some people will search your bag thoroughly, some don't give a crap.
For the most part, the people searching you on the way into the festival itself are volunteers...people like you and me who are doing this for a free ticket into the festival. They're nice people. You will very rarely get searched by any sort of law enforcement officer. Be cool, relaxed, and helpful, and you're less likely to get into anything.
