I was wondering if any of you guys had met up from the board here and hung out during the fest? Seems like it'd be fun to get to know some of you guys in person. Just an idea I thought up. Any feed back is great.

I didn’t make any of the meet ups last year, however I did get a chance to talk to Captain Trips on Friday night when he had his bus parked not far from the Centeroo entrance. That was a very enjoyable experience. I think it would be a blast to put some faces with the names on this board. I’ll definitely make a better effort this year, count me in. What’s the plan? Any other solo rooers out there besides me? Also I’ll have my guitar and harmonicas with me if anyone cares to jam with a beginner.
I'm linking up with the Solorooster group from the listserv at 4AM Thursday and we're getting in line at 6AM. Anytime from Thursday afternoon on is cool with me...
i tried hard to make the thurs meetup time last year but the best i could manage after parking and throwing out some tarps to "stake my claim" was almost 2hrs after the official time at the comedy tent......i looked but saw no familiar faces in the crowd and gave up.....moral=im not stressing over the thurs one this year.....ill see yall on friday.
The group of Soloroosters is meeting up at 4AM CST at the Walmart in Tullahoma (about 10 miles south of Manchester). We're leaving as a group to head in together at 6AM.
Contact Sir Rastus Bear (aka Glenn Hutchings) at bocfanatic@yahoo.com. He's organizing the group this year. So far there are about 18 names on the list. I doubt that many will actually make the linkup but it should make for a decent sized group regardless. Some people have said that they wanted to camp with us but wouldn't make that Walmart meetup. I doubt that'll happen if they don't meetup since given the randomness of parking, they probably won't find our camp.
10 on thursday, and 11 the rest of the time. All of these were at the playground. This is what happened last year. Then I only managed to get there Thursday on time.
About 60 people or so from the listserv are meeting up Thursday night for a big bar-b-q and jam session. The initial meet-up is at 8 PM at the arch and from there everyone is going to one of the camps for the festivities. Looks to be a good time...
Ah man! The Inforoos could so take the Listservs!!!.....................Sorry, I just had this wierd West Side Story falshback of the Sharks and the Jets meeting up under the arch and the dance dance begins!!!!
The way I see it, the more the merrier, no? Stop by the arch at 8PM on Thursday with some provisions (it's sort of a potluck kinda deal) and come join the party!
I have to admit, though. That West Side Story image is pretty funny
My understanding of how it's going to work is as such:
Meeting will be at 8PM just outside the arch. Look for people wearing white t-shirts that have a colorful design on the front and say "Dance Like Nobody's Watching." Most people aren't going to have that shirt but a bunch will. Bring whatever sort of provisions you'd like or that you think other people would want to try (beer, snacks, etc.) There will be a few small grills running so if you have anything you'd like to cook, that'll work too (hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, etc.). Of course "party favors" are nice too
From the meet-up spot, we'll be proceeding to one of the camp sites. There's a group of about 20 or so from the listserv that are meeting up in Tullahoma early Thursday AM and going in together so as to camp together. Of course because of the way parking works, no one knows where this campsite will be. That's why the meet-up is occurring at the arch beforehand. Someone from that camp will be there to guide everyone else back to the party.
If you're late, a sign will be posted on the arch with the camp location. If you see a sign on the arch with reference to the Jeff Pechow Blues Caravan (JPBC), that's the one that'll tell you where to go.
Oh, and it's my first Roo also. Can't wait another minute!

no offense intended but this sounds way too complicated to work.....good luck....ill look for the sign if im there that early....
so do we have any alternates proposed.....10 is when the headliners are playing.....and i am going to be at those shows.....soooo, earlier would be preferred by me.....
At 1:00 p.m. on Fri. I will be at This Tent catching the Old Crow Medicine show. Better yet, I will show up there early. Around 12:30 p.m., shall we say. Anyone want to stop by and say hello that'd be great. I'll be easy to spot since I'm 6'6" and have long, and by then, dirty hair. I'll be wearing star wars shirt that says Imperial Domination on it and I'll see if I can't post a picture sometime (which isn't likely since I don't have access to a camera right now). Either way, I hope to meet some or all of ya'll.
