So this is the first roo for me and my friend. I want to camp away from the car closer to centeroo so we are in the mix of everything, tring to go for the full roo effect. However my friend doesnt want to leave the car behind incase we need to go back several times to put cameras, cell phones, wallet, etc. in a safe spot.
What do you guys do? Any insight or advice would be nice.
Wait and see where you end up, but be prepared to haul your gear to tent only. Bring some kind of cart or wagon with you. Even if you camp in tent only, you can still go back to your car if you need to. Some people set up two camps, one at their car and a day camp in tent only. This way if you end up in BFE you only have to walk there once each day, but you have a shady spot to chill or take a nap near centeroo.

Well, this is a personal decision, really. I want to be close to my car to lock in my valuables when I'm not there/sleeping. There is no guarantee that your stuff will be safe in tent only. No matter where they park you, you will still experience "the full roo effect"!!!
Camp Only for me! why would you have your wallet anywhere but on you? the other stuff.. don't bring expensive cameras would be my advice, and a cell phone is easy to hide somewhere in your gear in your tent.

I also prefer to camp with the car....lets me lock stuff up, and provides a place to sleep if the tent proves less waterproof than it was when I tested it....this year I'll be in the press campsite...no one seems to know where it is...hopefully it'll be pretty close to the action.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
