I looked for an existing thread regarding sealing the tent, but couldn't find one. I know about the seam sealer and found some at wallyworld...but what about waterproofing the sides? Any tips for that?
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
If you buy scotchguard be sure to get the heavy duty stuff in the green can. Alternatively, I would recommend Camp-Dry (from Kiwi brand). I actually saw it cheaper than Scotchguard in the shoes section of Target.

Covered my tent with scotchguard, but I'm taking my chances that the "factory sealed" statement in the instructions is true. I'm too afraid of messing up the seams before I even get to use my tent for the first time.
We sealed our seams, but didn't use the spray-on waterproofer yet. I heard it cuts down the small, but natural ventilation of the tent skin. Our plan is to throw the spray-on waterproofer in the truck and if we decide to use it, we'll spray it on when we set up the tent at Roo. I think it will dry faster in the TN sun than the OK sun anyway.
I have had no trouble finding the seam sealer but I cant find the spray stuff anywhere, and I have been everywhere: Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, and 2 outdoor stores....screw it, I'm gonna hope for sun!
I seamed the seals last weekend and we didn't let it dry 24 hours, just waited until it was dry to the touch. I also didn't scotch treat the fabric or anything. We had better put it up to check everything out this weekend. ><
I really hope the forecast changes. I'll be watching it all weekend.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
