I just checked my tent and its 12x10 and I also have a quick shade that is 10x10 I was planning on putting the tent behind my car, then the quick shade up front and a tarp from the car to the quick shade.....so how much space do we have for sure for sure
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
It varies. Bet on at least 10x15, depending on how aggressive you are. In BFE you almost get all the room you want. Average is about 20x20 but once again it varies wildly.
It also sounds like you're planning on using the room in front of and behind your car? I may be misreading that. If so, don't depend on being able to use both ends of your car for setting up...they don't always make it so that's possible.

Isn't the rule technically a 10x10 space per vehicle? I don't think they're too strict about it though as long as you aren't taking up a ton of space...
not the front of my car....is the 10x10 including the car? I was planning on parking my suv, then pitching the tent right behind my car, followed by the shade tent so in a row it would be car, tent, then shade tent. Then on top of all of that, I plan on putting a tarp for shade.

If I'm correct in the 10x10 space (which i'm not completely positive of, pretty sure tho) then I know that the space does not include the car, so you have the car and then your 10x10 square of a living space for 4 days.
I think officially, it's something like 12 ft by the length/width of your car. Sometimes they have you camp next to your car, sometimes behind it. In 2005, we were pretty much packed in sardines. Our tent was almost touching our neighbors on both sides, and we were across bushy branch road, about a 40 minute walk from centeroo. Last year, we were about 5-10 minutes from centeroo, and had plenty of room and some to spare.

Wow 10' x 10'? I've only been once in 04 and we were over the bridge so I guess we had more room than others. My shade tent is 16 x 14 alone - I don't mind sharing it with neighbors or even setting my tent up inside of it.

Being over the bridge isn't all that bad. We set up a two-person tent and two one-persons in our space last year, with a big 12' x 12' canopy. And it's so quiet out there. BFE has its benefits.
how about this my friend and his girlfriend only have a 8 person tent i myself am bringing a 12x10 canopy and a small 2 person tent also my other friend is coming with a 2 person tent.. anyone one think we are gonna have problems since we are all coming in one car...
Q: Where will we be camping / parking? Are we going to be able to camp next to our cars?
* Camping space will be provided in front of or behind each vehicle. NOTE: Each vehicle will have a camping area of approximately 10 feet by the width of your car. You will not be able to save spots. If you plan on parking/camping with your party you must arrive together.

generally, they wont say anything to you unless you are just being rediculous with the amount of space you are taking. Be quick to unload and you should get plenty of room. We pack the tarps and tents last, so they are the first thing we grab once we park. Then, its just a race to lay everything out to claim your area.
