Earlier I bought a 12x12ft canopy from wal-mart. The real cheap one. Its basically a big tarp that you put up with little poles, which you then have to tie off and stake to the ground. Fully expanded including the ropes its like 24ft, but im sure I can shorten them up. I wantd to put my tent under it, but it has a big metal pole for the middle. Its not needed, but you cant stand erect under it without the pole. Im going alone, and last time I just shared the shade with someone elses tarp that we tied off to the end of my tent. All in all its an annoyance with the ropes tied off in every direction, but shade is better than no shade. So do you guys think I should just pass on it and just get creative with a tarp? or should I bring it?
I dont have a problem sharing it with other inforooers, but it might just be in the way of everyone. Basically im wondering if its gonna be more of a nuisance than help to others and myself
That is the worst canopy made but any shade is better than no shade. Bring it and try and get creative (ie attach to car, drive some poles into ground.) Make shade the best way you can.
We got a cheap one at Building 19 (similar to Big Lots) it was $25 but it looked like it was built a little more sturdy than the one at Wal Mart (We also looked at that one). Just bring an extra tarp or two, some rope and if worse comes to worse, use the poles and make a better shelter for yourself.
