Hey everyone! I'm SO EXCITED about going to my first Bonnaroo this year!! I've made up my mind I want to go tent only for sure! But could somone be so kind as to explain the procedure of getting moved in? I've gathered a good time to get in for Tent Only is early Thursday Morning, but then what? Thanks for any help! I'm looking forward to any detail I can get!

Ok, take a look at this cut out from the map (I believe this is the '06 version, someone correct me if I'm wrong). The area I have marked was tent only in '07. Now look to the right, and then look down. The area that you cannot see to the bottom right is where they will put you if you arrive Wednesday night. This has pretty much been confirmed by some great investigative work by some inforoosters, as well as my own personal experience. Ok, so say you get parked out there like we did. They won't allow you into tent only until Thursday morning at around 7:30 or 8. Inform your neighbors that they can have all the space they want, as you'll be moving first thing in the morning. We slept in our car the first night (which wasn't too bad, surprisingly), and got up around 6:30 and packed up our wagon and hauled our stuff to the line that had already formed to get into tent only. At like 8 in the morning, they opened the gate and let us all go. It wasn't too bad of a walk, and it took us about 20 minutes to find a primo spot in Happy Gilmour (it was actually Biff Tanen I think... this map doesn't seem right... any scans of the '07 map?), right on the road, and in the middle of the camp. We didn't want to lug our stuff any farther, so we just dropped it there. We got everything set up within an hour and just relaxed and met our neighbors. We were soon joined by a group who had flown in from Alaska, and we couldn't have asked for better neighbors. I loved those people, and I miss them. Camp inforoo was about two minutes away, and Centeroo was about five minutes. I hope I answered your questions well enough. Any more?
Wow, thanks for the quick response bro! It's alot more clear now. Just a few more little things. 1st, where on the map is Centeroo? Is it the whole area of, "This tent," and "that tent?" Also, say I get there for the first time early Thursday morning instead of sleeping there overnight Wednesday, is there a line I could wait in for Tent Only until they open it? And basically, after they let the Tent campers go, you just walk through and find your spot? *It may be a key fact to say I only live about 45 mins from Bonneroo, which is why I'm asking about just getting there early Thursday.

centeroo is indeed the area with all of the tents/stages/fountain etc, bottom left of the picture above plus it extends down a bit more.
in 06 you could go park your car wherever they put you, but they didn't let people into the tent only area until 8am-ish, I'm not sure what the situation was last year, as i was in VIP. As far as the line goes, do you mean a line of cars or a line of humans? There was no separate line of cars, and i believe there was no lines of humans either, more like a group. there should be PLENTY of room early in the am on thursday, so no worries about having to sprint over to tent only from wherever they choose to corral folks this year... but yep! you just walk over with all your junk and stake out your claim by laying your gear out and setting it up, be sure to meet the folks around you, they'll be your neighbors for the weekend!
hope that helped! if anyone that went tent only last year knows if they did anything differently, please interject! ;D

Last year there was a line of people at 6:30 in Camp James Bond about 60 or so deep. At 8 when they opened the gate, it was probably two to three hundred deep. If you are smart and have something big enough to cart your stuff in, and make it to the end of the line, you should get a killer spot. I want to be on the corner of E 1st and 3rd this year!

Wow! This helped out so much! My Bonnaroo picture is getting painted!! You guys kick ass for helping me out so much, with all my questions, heh.
So, quick run down of what I'm going to do Thursday Morning: 1.)Arrive at Bonnaroo Early, around six or seven? 2.)Wait in the Tent Only Group to get through, and park. 3.)Park, get stuff out, and walk to Tent Only camp area 4.)Find your spot and settle in.
Does this about sum it up? Anything wrong in that list, or missing?? Thank you guys so much! Bonnaroo is a couple months away but I'm so excited it feels like this next weekend!

Actually you'll probably want to get there even earlier... there will be an extremely long line of cars along the highway to get into roo, THEN you park and haul over to tent only. There is no separate "tent only" parking or line of cars or anything, they'll park you as if you're going to be camping next to your car. then you'll lug your stuff over to tent only, on foot. there will only be a wait if all of this happens before 8am (or whatever time they decide to "open" tent only this year), if by the time you get parked it's after that time, you'll just walk (or run?) over to the tent area spot with all of your gear.
lemme know if that's not clear, it's kind of rambling. i dunno how else to put it, but i can definitely try to reword it if need be!
here i'll make a point by point like you did
1. arrive in the bonnaroo long ass line of cars along the freeway as early as possible thursday morning (i've never been IN this line (flew in in 06 and VIP entrance in 07) but i've seen it, and it's really long), somebody else could definitely better help you determine what time you should plan to arrive in this line.
2. get parked with everyone else in GA, just as you would if you were camping next to your car
3. unload all your camping gear and walk it to the line or grouping of people you'll find on the way to tent only (if before 8am or whatever time they let people in this year) OR just walk straight to the tent only area (if after 8am, or whatever time)
4. find a cozy spot to camp in
5. setup camp, meet neighbors and have fun, you're at bonnarooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

If you arrive at Bonnaroo around six or seven in the morning on Thursday, you probably won't get set up until around noon. I met some people last year that said they pulled into Manchester at around 7 and they set up behind us at about 12:30ish. It's up to you when you want to arrive, and you should be able to find a spot. It wasn't too hard for the people who set up behind us to grab a spot. But expect a LONG wait in a car line if you arrive Thursday morning.
On the upside, though. The people that were arriving Thursday morning were being put in the surrounding areas (Camp Adrian, Camp Clubber Lang, Camp Ferris Bueller, etc), which are primo camping locations already.

I was there in line at 7 and ended up parked at Griswald. I came from Nashville last year and it was my first Roo. How early do they let cars in Bonnaroo?

Thank you so much for your words of advice! You all have helped me so much already! I was expecting a long car line Thursday morning, but I think it will all be worth it. I just can't see myself being bummed waiting in that line, just being a couple hours from Heaven, ha. I'm planning on getting there early enough to get parked before 8 so I can mingle with the campers before we're allowed to go in and pick our spot. Holy shit I'm ready to go!!! ;D
