I'm liking all the bag discussion. I need to find a new one. Last year I took a little drawstring backpack and I just got really sick of having to take it off and then put it back on every time I needed money, my camera, my phone, etc.
It is big and bulky but its really nice to carry ice cold bottles of water into centeroo. Plus, by the end of the day, the melted ice is great to splash on your face. Luckily, my hubby carried it around most of the time. I definitely need to find a small bag for night though.

I LOOOVE this idea--except I feel like I'd have some problems getting through centeroo with it (especially with beer and maybe even with water bottles). They were SO strict with the water thing last year for the first day--then not so much. Color me pissed after I had to dump out my entire camelbak when it was a million degrees outside.
yeah, I never even tried to bring my own water in with me, though others in my group were successful. Plus with the sippy tube, I never really noticed the smell.
Well ladies, I'm going to attempt to cut my own hair this evening. Just a trim. I'll let you all know how it goes
Good luck! I started cutting my own hair about a year ago, and now won't have it any other way. You just have to be open minded in case you need to revamp a "mess up". This is how I discovered the awesomeness of chunky bangs
I think it turned out pretty well. I have curly hair and am fortunate that curls help cover up unevenness. I'm sure it's not even but it's hard to tell
Ladies! That Kavu bag looks so fab. Im gonna have to put some further investigation into those.
Secondly, if you requested a pin from me recently (luvaluva, sugarhigh, pritch, laura) it has been put in the mail TODAY! So you should all have them in the next couple days. I love all the places that the GFT pins have reached! If we had a map with pins in it of all the states that have GFT pins, it would be pretty impressive If anyone else wants to represent GFT at Roo X, just PM me your address.

Hello, Ladies Question about hats - do you lovelies wear sun hats at Roo? I did find a few links that had been posted, one of which was for a hemp hat at Soul-Flower. Do you get the huge brims or just something big enough to shade your face?
I have a straw cowboy hat that I bring to Roo. The rest of the time, I go with bandanas. But there are plenty of variety in hats at Roo... some large sunhats, some baseball hats.

I have a gigundous floppy straw hat that I plan on bringing. Don't know how it'll fare at Roo but its saved my life in New Orleans on a few occasions. I am going to get some ribbon and attach it so I can either tie it on if its windy or let it hang on my back if I don't wanna wear it...I get the feeling it can be windy and I can just see the floppy brim becoming a sail!

Before you go to Bonnaroo, starch the crap outta that floppy hat. I've had mine "melt" on me there, and had to spend the whole time pushing the brim out of my face.

Ohhh...thanks for the tip!! Never in a million would I have thought to do that, but it makes total sense. I love your hat, looks a little like a Dr. John-style stingy brim, very appropriate!
I would recommend NOT going with a baseball cap. Did that last year and I'm looking for something of the straw/floppy/just plain bigger variety this year.
sugarhigh where did you get your hat?! Super cute!

I've always just worn bandannas when I wanted some sort of head cover, but would love to get a hat eventually. I just never really like how I look in hats, so I know I'd never wear it apart from Roo. But maybe I'll find a cute one sometime that's cheap enough for just Roo.
Glad to hear the hair-cutting adventure went well, Julie. I really need to cut my bangs sometime soon. Wish I had the guts to cut the rest of my hair too...would love to just chop it off. Actually I just want short hair in general, but that's another thing that I never think looks good on me.

I play a lot of softball in the spring/summer and know a baseball cap isn't going to cut it for 4 days in the TN sun. Sunburn on the ears is not the way you want to spend a fun weekend out. Never considered the starch, thank you for that idea! Big ass brimmed hats are so cute but I don't know that I could pull it off too well, but, Roo seems like the perfect place to rock it!

The last 2 years I used a wide-brimmed hat which was wonderful but it broke So this year I bought the hemp one from Soul-flower. I'm not sure yet if I love it or not but I will try it! The brim is enough to shade my face though, it's bigger than I thought it would be.

Big brimmed hats with gigantic sunglasses will make you feel glamorous even in 90 degree heat covered in dirt!

That hat is totally cute! My girlfriend, who is coming with us to Roo this year, bought it last week. I tried to get it yesterday but it's currently sold out Does it happen to be lined?
Last year we picked up two brimmed hats at Roo out of necessity. Had brought one with but it was too fitted. I've done Hot but that was a new meaning.
His is a darker wide brim and i went for the light colored ladies 'straw'. The big difference is his version had the flexible brim that you can shape. He ended up walking around with a really cool, old man croc dundee thing going on, and i had the Mrs. Doubt Fire look going on. I borrowed his on more than one occasion and shaped it to the mood of the moment. Looked far better.
Have added that to lessons learned.. steal hubbies hat and buy him a new one at Roo. (Hope hedoes not start reading this thread. ;D)
