Heyyyy everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster. I finally made it to the end of the 2007 Girly Fasion Thread and figured why not get it started again? Nobody's posted in the old one since August and it's never too early to start thinking about these kinds of things ;D
Anywaysssss,
Last year I bought tevas for my first bonnaroo. I actually got two pairs. I ordered a size 10, but something happened with the shipping and they were not scheduled to get to my house until the day after I left So I ended up going to EMS and getting a size 9, cause I thought they fit better when I tried them on.
The problem was, my feet swelled like crazy at Bonnaroo. By Sunday I had to wear my sneakers (good thing I brought them just in case) because I could barely get my tevas on. On the car ride home I couldn't get them on AT ALL. It was like my feet swelled even more once I stopped constantly walking. Once we were back at home I could BARELY walk for the next too days. Sadly, I'm not even exagerating. Absolutely awful.
I don't know if it was the heat or what. This was my first time visiting the south and probably the hottest weather I've ever been exposed to. I felt like I was constantly drinking water, but who really knows how much salt I was eating with the vendor food and everything.
This year I'm bringing my tevas again, probably the bigger size, my sneakers, and maybe some crocs (I have yet to experience them). I'm hoping switching back and forth will help. We'll see....
Onto the next topic of discussion: BRAS
What did everyone end up doing last year? There was not too much followup in the old thread. I brought a bunch of regular underwire bras and could not deal with them. I ended up going braless with my DD's all weekend which is crazy, but it seemed like the best alternative at the time. I'm still trying to figure out what to do next year.
Another issue I had was the leg chaffing with the skirt/dresses I bought. It got so bad that I had to wear my pajama pants on Sunday I'm probably gonna do the shorts under the dresses this time. How did everyone else do with those? Did you end up using mens boxer briefs? boyshorts? what?
Well, I guess I've posted enough hehehehe. Can't wait to talk to all you ladies about bonnaroo! ;D

Welcome cupcake Good post!
I went with Crocs last year (with the adjustable velcro strap) and had no issues. The year before I wore Birks and my feet were swollen for days after..... So I will be going with the Crocs again - as ugly as they are, you can't beat the comfort.
As for bras I go with the underwire full coverage VS Body by Victoria. I am a D cup so there is no way in hell I am going without a bra, no matter what They are really comfortable so I have no issues with wearing them.
I have never had chaffing problem so I can't address that one, but I know some girls last year wore those stretchy tight shorts under dresses or skirts - I guess mens boxer briefs could work well......
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
I wore Crocs - also think they are ugly but also found them super comfy - no foot issues until the very very last day and I think even walking on pillows would have caused it by that time...
I bought some of the cotton underwires from VS to they sopped up the sweat and didn't "look" like bras when exposed with tanks and stuff (I know, I know I'm at Bonnaroo but my mom taught me to never show my undergarments!). I also took a bikini top (I am a D) and it was good as well, but ended up hurting my neck by end of the day (triangle/neck-tie style).
As for the chafing, I got some moisture-wicking short bike shorts from Kmart for $9.99 - two pairs in black. Not super tight lycra, but slim enough that they didn't ride up. They were AWESOME. I could wear all my little dresses and sit cross-legged on the grass and had no chafing or sweat issues.
Also, I got a Kelty Camelbak-style backpack that was really slim and small. Not as big of a bladder as the packs of my friends, but I didn't find the water at the troughs to be gross and usually the lines were reasonable. But it was so small it fit right there at my shoulderblades, wasn't heavy but had room for my camera, my cell, moist wipes, purell, sanitizing wipes, TP (all in separate Ziploc baggies), my PStyle (soooo great when in an icky porta potty), lip balm, gum and a snack. I took my small tapestry as a ground cloth and tucked it in the bungee cords on the outside of the pack and was set all day long in Centeroo.
What I learned and how 2008 will be different:
More bandannas. Just in case it's dusty again.. I had one to protect my scalp when having pigtails, but could have used a 2nd as a face mask or even wetted and put around the neck
Cotton dresses are far better than knit. 100% stiff cotton was breezy, dried fast, didn't get as dusty.
Dresses are better than a little tank and shorts. I felt so much more comfortable for long stints in Centeroo.
Really loose cotton pants or nicely worn jeans for evening. I brought jeans, but after a day in the sun and dust I didn't want to shimmy around in my tent to get them on. I brought some camo-print drawstring cropped pants and ended up wearing those every night, even under my dresses.
I think I will bring a sun visor. A hat annoyed me, but I needed a face shield on some of those super hot days. Maybe I'll take this one I got free at a baseball game and have everyone I meet decorate it with a Sharpie...
our choices are shoes (or not) and shorts...(or not)
but as far as the chafing goes, there's a product called bodyglide that runners use when they're doing distance runs that works really well that you could probably find at any store that caters to runners. it's just a gel stick that you use on any problem areas and i'm sure you could just toss it in a purse or backpack and take it with you. on the swollen feet issue, icing down your feet at the end of the day (whether your feet hurt or not) is a good idea. if you do that for a little while each night it'll help prevent all that pain from building up (taking tylenol and a multivitamin each day will help too). those have all worked for me (i'm a runner).
and ladies, while you're dealing with all that fun, i'll be the dirty, sunburned, unshaven guy next to you wearing nothing but a pair of shorts, sunglasses and a back pack screaming "BONAROOOOOOO!!!"
I just have to say 'Thank God this thread exists!' (and the last one) Bonnaroo 2008 is going to be so much more comfortable. Thanks for all the ideas. Alieblue-I hear ya on that bikini top thing. It takes alot to hold these knockers up too. Ouch
Yeah, seriously. I wear bras for comfort and for my personal taste, not for society. I know plenty of ladies who go without and look fabu. If mine sat up on their own, I surely wouldn't be wrapping them in synthetic fabric and metal!

So this was brought up in the last girly thread, and I'm bringing it up again.
Did anyone else see chicks walking around in full makeup last year? What were they thinking? Sweat and eye-liner do not mix.
i didnt really see that, but i did put lots of body glitter on last year ;D, i didnt do it the years before cuz i had a RV this past year and i was able to shower and stay pretty clean ;D
2007 was my first Bonnaroo. I did bring waterproof mascara because I am obsessed with mascara and have very light lashes. I also brought a tinted lip balm with SPF. This year I think I may come with something fun like glitter or hot pink lip gloss just because it's fun. However the foundation etc. shall stay at home.
I think the women in full makeup also were staying in hotels or fancy RVs. How about those women in tight jeans, heels, styled hair? Amazed me every time I saw them! Personally, I didn't look at my reflection in a mirror larger than a compact until we were at Cracker Barrel for our breakfast before the ride home. My reflection freaked me out, I had almost-dreads and 50,000 new freckles and a crazy tan from the bandannas.
Yeah I think those were the same girls. I did wear lip gloss sometimes-it helps keep the chapstick on longer. It was freeing being able to not care and just be natural for a few days. It was a little depressing having to go back to the heels and hair product for work after that
