MAYO NOT getting tan?! ...it's for my stupid/awesome newly lasered legs. Have to keep them un-sunned for a couple weeks) and they had a multitude of cute bikini tops, some WITH underwire for the bustier ladies!!! And also about a billjion sundresses. There is a strapless version that i desire with all my little heart - It has a sweetheart neckline, which GREATLY improves upon the straight neckline strapless that make me look really really wide. So, not necessarily on sale, but many many choices at Target right now.
OH! Third thing: 3) ROOTUS - I have been making RooTus furiously the past few weeks, and wanted to know if anyone else is making one for themselves? Pics? Ideas? <3

Hey girlies, I've actually been lurking through the site for awhile, but this is my first post. I just have to say thanks for all the suggestions/advice. This will be my first roo, but hearing all your stories is getting me beyond excited. Hopefully, I get to see you guys there
One question while I'm here, I read earlier in the forum that carrying a backpack can be a little irritating. Has anyone used a messenger styled bag? If so did it chaff after awhile?

One question while I'm here, I read earlier in the forum that carrying a backpack can be a little irritating. Has anyone used a messenger styled bag? If so did it chaff after awhile?
I do a backpack and it doesn't bother me at all.
But since this is your first Roo, I would suggest bringing both kinds of bags and testing them out to see which works for you!

I just carry a camel back, it holds everything I need, and of course it holds water too. amzn.to/IgBUqI Thats the 100 oz. and I filled it up once a day. I can highly recommend the hydration bag instead of the other type, because it will help keep you alive.
I'd go with what Julie said. Maybe try both. Also keep in mind that chafing aside - you'll be holding everything you bring into Centeroo on one shoulder. It can get tiresome. But there are people who go with sling bags all the time! so it's def possible! Im a camelbak girl myself. I need my water.

Camelbak all the way! My bag is a perfect size. Just big enough to fit a long sleeve shirt, leggings and misc necessities (wipes, poncho, sunscreen..) but small enough to not be annoying!

Hey chickies... I've been quiet because I'm sadly not Roo'ing this year but I saw some CUTE dresses at Wal-Mart the other day and HAD to share. They have short ones and maxi ones for under $17 a pop!! And they're totally cute!!

SHERMIONEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! Well done lady! Im so proud of all the RooTus being made! I made one yesterday at a crafting/Pinterest party I went to, and all the ladies were like, "these are for adults?" all incredulous-like... then when i finished the one I was working on, one of the ladies said, "......um, Mayo? can i try it on?" and when she did she bounced all around the house squealing. I was like - SEE YOU GUYS?! TUTUS RULE! EVEN FOR GROWN UPS!!! Really, girl, it looks great!!!! <3!!!

If you're a plus size lady like myself, and you were pissed when Old Navy decided to only have their plus size clothes online, I have good news for you!! Their current stock of summer dresses run very very big this year. The misses XXL is at least a plus size 2x-3x. I wear a 26/28, and I had no problem with fit.
This is gonna make roo shopping hella cheap and easy this year, woot!
I just got back from Old Navy - where I never shop because I'm a bigger girl - with a couple sundresses and some fab gauzy tunics/coverups that scream cool breeze. Thanks so much for the info!
H&M has some awesome cotton dresses for under $15. I figured that dresses will be my best bet. With bike shorts under of course. These thighs rub haha.
I am SO excited that I have my wardrobe pretty much set. I just need to get some shorts or leggings to wear under my tutu (thanks for the love, everyone!) and lay it all out to coordinate so I don't end up rifling through my bag every day trying to match outfits on the fly. I can't believe it's only five weeks away now!!!

So I was planning on using my tax refund to buy a fancy professional camera and have since decided to just save it and use it at a cushion for roo. And since I was saving every penny I got I avoided this dangerous dangerous thread. I plan on taking about $100-200 and buy some more roo supplies......meaning clothes, haha. I will let you ladies know if I stumble upon any snazzy unexpected finds.
Also using my day off to make two rootus for my friends going this year. We made some last year and they were a hit, so they have requested some. One rainbow and one yellow and pink! I'm excited to see all the tutus running around roo this year!

I think I have caught rootu fever as well after reading all the posts and seeing how easy they are to make. I think I'm going to make me one and see if anyone else in my crew wants one.

I made my rootu last night. I made a bad choice and picked black and pink glitter tulle so now there is glitter everywhere! my floor my furniture and i even just found some in my cleavage while at work even though i have showered since. I must have been having a fat moment when I measured the elastic though because its too big. Ill post a pic tomorrow after I take it in. Thank you for all the tips and inspiration! cant wait to see everyones.

I found when I was making mine that the elastic kind of stretched with all my tulle strips on so I had to cut off a few extra inches in the end (I kept trying it on while I was making it!). I figure next time I will take off 4-5 inches from the waist measurement to ensure proper fit.
