Hi guys, been MIA because work has been kicking my arse!
A newer poster asked about pStyle and the other tools to help a girly in a porta potty? LOOOVE the pStyle. There's a review from me on their website about how I got it at Bonnaroo. My whole posse this year, all the girls got pStyles of their own.
Not mcuh new in tergard to Roo fashion... went to Old Navy with DCBee this weekend but didn't find anything quite right (though they have a super cute jersey maxi dress for $29.50 but the shelf bra was too small and gave me quad-boob and the L was too long so I didn't get it).

I work at Old Navy, and trust me, as soon as it gets a little closer to summer-- we have sundresses galore.. I'll have to hide my stash somewhere so I can wait for them to go on sale. :]
Hey ladies! Has anyone been to roo and used the Garnier Fructis tent??? my questions are this - A: is it really free, or should we be tipping? and B: is there a looooong wait or anything?
I had no issues last year with my hair - as it was in a ponytail(s) everyday and with naturally wavy hair, I could just rinse and go at a water station. This year, however, i have BANGS.... I dont want to grow them out just for the Roo - and now it seems my naturally wavy hair is a natural pain in the a$$ when dealing with Bangs...I wanna know if the Garnier people can keep my cute a$$ doo cute at the ROO.

Nice to know! Maye you could ask her to post a little about her experience. Personally, just getting a cool shampoo, in the middle of the day, sounds wondrous.

I don't know if this is really helpful or not but I recently gave myself bangs but now I'm kind of sick of them so I have been bobby pinning them back. It's not really the poof look...more like the poof without the oof. But just figured that is an option if you don't want to deal with them at Roo and of course there are headbands too.
I too was wondering what the Garnier tent was all about so thanks for bringing it up!

oh yeah, they're awful, but they're not as bad as the target mirrors....cause target has the mirrors at every angle....and sometimes I just don't want to see every angle lol

bonnaroo 2008 will be my first, but i've been working outside for the last 3 summers, in the tennessee sun, so i have some insight for the bra issue:
sports bras, especially the kind that are moisture-wicking, are really the most comfortable and probably your best bet. i have a few tanktops from target that i got a few years ago that have shelf bras in them that actually do a good job of keepin' the girls (i'm quite blessed) in line. i wouldn't wear a regular underwire bra. not all day in the sun, unless you have something that's 100% cotton. i personally can't stand a regular bra when i'm in the sun all day and i don't know if it's the influence of my bohemian mama, or if it's really just that uncomfortable. summary: invest in a couple of good sports bras and camis/tanks with shelf bras.
as far as chafing goes, i saw that someone mentioned that stuff for runners. if you have any trouble finding it, monistat (yeah, wtf?) also makes some stuff that's with the women's hygiene products at wal-mart. it has been a godsend to me over the last few years. you can also get some skintight bicycling shorts, under armor, leggings, etc. most of that stuff is mostly cotton and will help to absorb sweat and keep you cool. i live in denim mini skirts all summer and my chafing stuff from monistat is usually enough. if you do end up getting chaffed, which i used to, baby diaper cream will clear it up almost over night. just slather it on and go to sleep. it doesn't leave a nasty residue, like you might expect. i like aveeno's stuff.
i don't think i'll be wearing much make up. maybe some waterproof mascara and eyeliner and spf lip balm. i'll sweat off anything else. most important is to use some kind of moisturizer with spf on your face, every single day. and you can get face cleansing wipes that work really well.
also, i highly recommend chacos over tevas. i find them a lot more comfortable. i also have these rope sandals that i'll be bringing with me that feel like i'm barefoot and i hate shoes, so yeah. and definitely get your feet out of your shoes and ice them every night.

everytime I go in a target dressing room I want to dye my hair... I think their lighting is off. (not off literally, but not right.)

I'm always petrified of wearing dangly earrings at certain shows, bonnaroo being one of them because you never really know what's gonna happen, just because I am afraid they are going to be ripped out....I have a tendency of visualizing the most silly things....like, I am pretty clumsy and I would be walking along and I would trip over my own foot and fall into a nice hippy whose natural reaction would be to catch me, but they would miss and hit my earring, ripping it out..... haha but they would be cute kristen!

aww, thanks!
yeah, I just thought of the possiblity of someone tugging on them by accident, but it should be okay, i hope lol.
they might get heavy on my ears though, but I really want to look cute at festivals this summer, now that I'm no longer a novice! last year at roo I was scrubbin it, but this year I'm doing it super cute with nice sun dresses and stuff.

yeah I am sure it would be fine with earrings...I am just paranoid haha.......I def. think that the more fests you go to the better you get at being comfortable and looking cute.....it's taken us years but I think this year we will have our perfect site, and I know I will finally have the perfect wardrobe, which is cute, comfortable, durable and it will keep me cool....and maybe, just maybe I'll have some earrings on lol....you've inspired me kristen haha

No, thats not too silly at all. It happened to me at a show once. Thankfully the hoops had a clasp that if they were pulled hard enough, they just come off. I'm lucky I didn't have my earlobe ripped apart.... but they were nice earrings (actually, a family hand-me-down). So now I know not to wear any valuable jewelry to shows.

I definitely recommend either pinning your bangs back like Alessia said or just pulling them back in a headband or bandana. I also have bangs - although now I"m growing them out to be more side swept instead of straight across - and they wouldn't last 5 minutes in the TN sun. I'd just have this sweaty lock of hair sticking to my forehead. Much better to get them out of the way ahead of time!
Forever21 cheap dress alert. Only $11.50, knee length, only available in the pictured color. Rayon/spandex mix, so breathabilty might be an issue in the heat, but on the plus side, the straps look wide enough to hide even a sports bra's straps. And well, it's cheap!
