Yeah, 50/1.4 might be questionable. I'd personally just pick up/use the 50/1.8. If anything happens to that thing (which isn't likely in the first place), it's no big deal to buy a new one.

So I'm a bit confused. I have a Canon Rebel XT DSLR (love it) and I was hoping to bring her to Bonnaroo. I know that you aren't allowed to bring them into the concert tents, but what about GA camping grounds? I'd love to be able to bring my camera and extra lens in to photograph the people around me. My best friend would be bringing a point and shoot for the actual shows. Would I be allowed to do that? Or is it no professional cameras, whatsoever?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they are only worried about bringing them to the concerts. You should be fine brining your camera.
Besides, what are they going to do, take you $700 camera from you or make you take it home? They just want to control those taking pictures at the actual shows.

Yep you can take any camera you want into the grounds as far as I know. They search you going into Centeroo where the music is and that is where you are not allowed to bring the professional camera. But do you really want to lock that camera up in a steamy hot car all weekend while you don't use it? Don't get me wrong, I am sure it would be perfectly safe, but I'm not sure how cameras handle extreme heat.....

You can bring a dslr in the campgrounds with any lens or take one into centeroo with a normal lens, no white canons or the like, IF you get a chill screener. If you get a stickler, then you'll be hiking it back to camp.
But I have to agree with the post above concerning the heat. If you're not going to have an RV to stash it into, then you'll have to put it in a car. If you put the camera in the car on a 90 degree day, you will regret it.
I'm leaving my rebel home (which is definitely not a professional camera, but try convincing a screener who doesn't know the difference) and bringing along an old Nikon p&s.
