ill be 18 in not too long and me and a couple friends are planning our trip to bonnaroo. alot of ppl say i dont look 18 though. my bro said he saw some kids there but they went with their parents. are the security gonna question us about our age and stuff like that? im just wondering. also how much money on average would the trip be not counting transportation. i was thinking bring like 300/400 or something just to buy stuff there. i dont have to worry about not being able to buy alcohol (unless they dont care) cus i dont drink. im just wondering if they will have problems with age there

You've got nothing to worry about. No one will hassle you regarding your age and you'll find lots of people around the same age. $300-400 should be more than enough $.

i went last year with three other friends all of us were 18 and we had no problems at all. it was actually quite easy for us to buy beer (which is SUPER EXPENSIVE!) buttt when your not 21 what can ya do? and no one hassles or ask questions! but you will learn a lot your first year and once you have the taste of roo your always left asking for more

yeah, my boyfriend and I went last year and we were 18, about to turn 19 right after roo. It was our first roo also. This year though we'll be going with a bunch of friends, so it should be a lot more fun.
You're not really hassled about the age... unless you get pulled over BEFORE roo and have alcohol in the vehicle, and everyone's underage.
So I suggest if you must bring beer or what not, someone that's 21 should be in the vehicle with it to vouch, or you'll get in trouble, but that's if you get pulled over.
I remember you couldn't go in to that tent where they were giving away the American Spirit cigs unless you were 21, which I thought was odd.
And $300-$400 is a good amount, especially if you plan on eating in centeroo a lot AND on buying souveniers (sp?)
Good luck, welcome to the boards, and have some karma too! I want to try and save up $500 spending money for food, souveniers, and party favors!

I took my daughter and her friend last year and they were both 15 at the time. I let them roam around and do their thing and we met up occasionally and I don't think their age was ever an issue for any reason.

naw sir. im 17 (will be 18 by the time ROo rolls round) and have been the past two years. everybody is down for young folks. they will be like "damn, youre young" but after that, its like talking to folks your age. but KK is right, dont start the party til youre on the farm. itll be worth it, trust me.

Me and my friend were 18 and 17, respectively, on our first trip. No hassles here whatsoever. We had a truck full of beer and werent even accosted about it at the gates. We saw all kinds of people driving like morons and passing us on the inerstate and got pulled over, so even if your not riding w/ precious "cargo" be wary around those ticket happy cops.

Once you're in you are all good. My biggest tip would be to be smart about what you bring and how you pack it and to avoid at all costs the temptation to display your bonnaroo pride with a bumper sticker or sign!
Anyone care to comment on being a bit "older" for Bonnaroo??? We are nearly 50 and camp out every year. Of course, some of the kids look at us a bit suspiciously... that is until they need a band-aid, gold-bond, a hug or a couple of bucks! Nothing like being granparents to about 70k kids!
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
I was 18 last year too. No problem at all. Kaleidescope, I remember that thing about the American Spirits tent. It was quite weird to me too... and a little upsetting as they were giving out free cigarettes.

I'll be 18 when Bonnaroo comes around. One of my friends will be turning 18 at Roo.
How much money should I plan on saving for strictly beer and party favors. I plan on packing my lunch or just getting those $1 grilled cheeses that everyone on here seems to be obsessed with. I don't plan on buying many souveniers besides a nice glass piece. One of my biggest fears is that either party favor prices will be jacked up or that I will have trouble finding it.
I'm taking a mason jar and using it as my Bonnaroo Fund. All of my spare change is going in it and every time I get money, I am going to put some into it. I figure that by June, I should have close to enough for spending money.
