I bought a shade from Target last year. I forgot which one it was but it was blue and the cheapest one they had. I tried setting it up in my backyard before b-roo to get the hang of it. I had about as much luck as Chevy Chase putting up Christmas lights. Needless to say it broke like a piece of crap.
137 curse words later, I decided that I would go without one. BIG MISTAKE. Obviously anyone who has been knows how vital the outer tent shade is. Luckily, our neighbors were awesome and had this huge pimpafied shade with the zip up mosquito net and everything.
I dont do any other festivals and wont need a shade for anything else so Im not lookin to drop 100 bones or more on one. Anybody got any good suggestions.... functional AND cheap??
Buy an EZ-Up canopy if there's any way you can afford it. I found mine at Tractor Supply last year for $30-$40 each but they're normally around $100 and well worth it. Look for sales as Spring get here. These have cross bracing and just unfold and pop up in minutes.
If you can't afford one of these look for the$20-$30 ones that have plastic running down the legs and attaching at the bottom. They hard harder to assemble but are pretty stable. I used this type for the first 4 Roos.
This pic has crossbracing which the cheap one will not but I used it to show the plastic down the legs which is critical for stability
