Bonnanoob here, and I can't seem to get a good explanation of how the car camping area works. Is the only benefit not having to carry your gear? I live about an hour away. If I meet out of town friends and set up camp, would I be able to leave and return for forgotten items or to re-up on food/munchies. If the car area is locked in, how far is day parking from the long term parking area, again I've not been able to find too much info in the way of good maps from years past. TIA for your advice.
The odds are that your car will be locked in. Bring enough supplies that you don't have to leave, and make a list to ensure that you don't forget anything.

Day parking is right near the entrance and is about a 10 minute walk to Centeroo. I day parked last year and left every night and came back the following day ( i live in Nashville). It worked perfectly for me PM me if you have any more questions about it.
If you go into the campgrounds you will pretty definitely be parked in.
