Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
btw, if they do put you in BFE, they will not let you out until they are ready. You will not get the jump on other folks trying to head to Tent Only.
(I got lucky, I had my tent up in TO(They let a few folks from the greyhound set up before closing it off) before I went to BFE to see some folks.. once i was in BFE they would not let anyone back out)

We got in Wedsnday night last year and got an awesome spot. There is no guarentee where you will wind up. Its all very arbitrary.
It also depends on what you consider a "long" way to centeroo. If your gonna spend all day there, like me, then a 15-20 min. walk ain't gonna be that bad at all.
We were in BFE - way out there - but it is nice and quiet out there - if you want to sleep - you can without too much noise.
The walk is not bad if you only do it once a day - walk to Centeroo - spend the day there and then back to camp at the end of the night (although the return trip is not all that fun after you have been out in the hot hot sun all day)
There's no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard. No song that I could sing. But I can try for your heart Our dreams, and they are made out of real things Like a, shoebox of photographs With sepiatone loving Love is the answer
A little feeling in my gut that I get of late when I think about these cats running the world with hate

Haha, 15-20 minutes is not even on the same continent as BFE.

We were in the gate by 3:00 or so Thursdayin '07 and we were about 1.5 miles from Centeroo. We were in the Austin Powers camps area. In '05 we got to the gates about 2:30 and we ended up around the Ferris Bueller areas, so it's really pretty random I think.

Alright, so last year we hopped in the line to get into 'roo at 7:30 PM, and they started letting us in at 8ish. About 9:30 we were to the gates, and being searched. We didn't land in our parking spot in Camp James Bond (20-30 minute walk to Centeroo) until 11:30ish. We waited until the next morning to go to Tent Only (our spot in Tent Only was less than five minutes from Centeroo, and it took us about twenty minutes or so to lug our stuff there). It was WAY worth it!
We arrive on Wed night and always head for the Wal Mart to camp for the night. We get up early and get in line and always end up in the same area with our RV. We always have about a 10 to 15 min walk to centeroo through a very entertaining shakedown. I have heard some bad things from people who get in line Wed, they always end up camping a million miles away from centeroo and hate it. Do yourself a favor and go party at Wal Mart on Wed night. We always meet great people there and you always end up needing some supplies which the store is very prepared for.

this is great advice, especially since I'll be coming from pennsylvania and doing the car/camping thing with my jeep, it's about 10 hours from pittsburgh and i've been trying to gauge my timing on when to leave, any suggestions, i would love to party it up in walmart that sounds great!! haha
this will be my third year. I come from the South, North Florida. We leave on Wednesday, arrive in the area before the exits get closed down and stay at a local hotel (we did check out the Wal-Mart Parking lot and found it to be a really great time).
Two years ago we got up at the hotel and we headed into the line by 8:45 AM. We entered via Bushy Branch road and we parked in a spot by 11 AM. Our walk was less than 20 min.
Last year we did not leave the hotel to get in line until 11:30 AM. We entered via the highway exit. We were parked by 1 PM - five minute walk from the gate (not arch entrance but the other one) So, go figure.......
Summary: Going early and getting in line puts you in BFE. Coming in on Thursday between 9 and 2 seems to give you good odds to get a reasonable spot.
