Hellllllooooo. I was considering tent only but i have a couple of questions. Where do you park to walk to tent only? How far is the walk? Can you just park in a normal GA spot? Can you set up a canopy or shade tent? Did you like it compared to car area?

Ok.
1.) You park where they put you with the rest of general admission. There is no special tent only parking lot. You park where they put you, and you either set up camp there or move to tent only. 2.) The walk to Centeroo from tent only is about five minutes from the back corner, or thirty seconds from the front corner. If you mean the walk from where you park, it could be anywhere from 5 minutes to 45 minutes, it depends. It also depends on if you want to make a walk of that length all weekend. 3.) See 1 4.) Yes, you can have an EZ-Up. We saw a lot of people in Tent Only set up their tents in a semi-circle, put reflective tarps over top their tents, then have an EZ-Up at the entrance to the tent semi circle. If you put tarps on the four sides of your EZ-Up, you have a nice compound that you can hang out in. If you do this, don't seclude yourself. Invite others in and offer them a beer. Be nice to your neighbors, and they will return the favor. 5.) Tent only was a lot better for a lot of reasons. The proximity to Centeroo cannot be beaten without buying a VIP ticket. We had a very nice view of What Stage from our camp, and watched part of the Police and Widespread from our camp last year. The walking vendors come by with more goods, more frequently. There was always someone up in your immediate area that wouldn't mind company, and if you find them share your treasures. They will return the favor.
thanks much for the info! when is the best time for tent-onlyers to arrive? wednesday night? thursday morning? i dont really care about the walk from my parking spot to tent only, but i do want a good spot in TO.

They don't open Tent Only until 8 AM on Thursday morning. There's an in depth response to that question in that thread I linked to.
